I just had this happen to me.. I decided to not only reject his offer of friendship, but I disconnected from him on all social media platforms. After the stunt he pulled, I have a right to protect my heart and peace.

Thank you. That's why I didn't accept his friendship cuz I couldn't see him as a potential partner for me.. he was trying to put me in the FriendZone . I know for a facted that I deserve more than a friendship. I am letting god guide me through it

I don’t stay friends with exes. I have no ties to them where I have to remain friendly (ex: children), so there is no reason to “be friends”. I have plenty of friends - I don’t need any more.

I always took the “let’s be friends” statement as one of two meanings:
1. If you’re starting out in dating and getting to know one another, it means that he’s not that into you, and he’s letting you down easy.
2. If you’ve been in a relationship, it means that he doesn’t really want to commit to you, but he doesn’t want you to find another man that’ll really want you. He wants to keep you as the placeholder while he explores his options, and if he can’t find anyone else, he’ll “settle” for you.

With some individuals friend zone after physical intimacy can be an extreme manipulation tactic for him to move you sexually into the FWB category.

A guy I was texting with and getting
aquainted with began to try and escalate conversation to a more physical nature and it was only day 3. This man was 69 years old and I am 63. When I told him that we were just getting aquainted and I felt we should get to know each other at this time based on other things besides physical attributes, he responded with "I dont think we are right for each other but we can be "friends".
Not on your life, buddy! I dont need a male friend like that, so I blocked without responding.

My man did this to me after 4 years
