I got baptized 2 summers ago and KNEW that I wanted to give my life to Christ. But last evening I got baptized again. I was at a friend's house and some people were already going to get baptized. When that happened, I HAD to get in the water. The Holy Spirit was definitely pressing me to do it. On the way to the creek, I kept hearing "Jump on in. Jump in the water." Afterwards, I changed clothes and started walking back to where everyone else was. I took a deep breath in, then deep breath out. As soon as I did that, I immediately heard "That was the first breath of your new life."

I'm getting baptized again on Sunday. I strayed but still believed. Just feel the need to do it again😃

The reason you mentioned was part of the reason I chose to be baptized again recently. Unlike the time I was twelve years old, I fully understood the Gospel. That, and the baptism class when I was twelve was in Spanish, which is a language I did not really understand at that age.

Thank you sir for this video. Exactly what I taught some time ago. Water baptism is symbolic and it is just a public showcase of what has already happened on the inside (Holy Spirit). This video kinda confirmed my researching and studying of the scripture was correct. Thanks again and be blessed.

I got baptized at 16 years old in our mom's church by her pastor and I thought everything went fine. However, when I was 29, God actually came to my life and He called me to get a baptism, then I understood that the previous baptism was no baptism at all because I did it only because my mom asked me to do it not because I actually believed and wanted to do it.

I was “baptized” in my parents’ Methodist church when I was too young to understand what was happening. Nobody shared the gospel with me. It led me, later, to a false assurance of salvation.

When I was 18, a Baptist shared the gospel with me and God saved me. Then I got baptized God’s way.

My wife was Pentecostal. Since she was taught the false gospel of faith plus works before she was baptized as a teen, she decided to be re-baptized in a grace-preaching church.

I guess that makes us both Anabaptists.

The Israelites had several baptisms - crossing through the seas - passing over

Many of my family members, luckily left the Pentecostal church. I remember that type of language and its heartbreaking to hear it because of the bondage it entails. You did a good job explaining it

I was baptized at 14 and never went back to that church. I was embarrassed on nhow scared i was during it. I want to get rebaptized after finding a church to call home; after a year at least. The church i went to less then 2 months and bible study once or twice before the baptism. Im in ny 30s now. Some people said a 2nd baptism isnt a thing, though some do. Like mentioned in the video, i thought the baptism was just me in water; as you can tell by the fear. Though i was happy at the time to get it done.

Which of the Two Baptisms is required for salvation?

Water baptism was a part of the Old Covenant system of ritual washing. The Old Covenant priests had to wash before beginning their service in the temple. When Christ was water baptized by His cousin John in the Jordan River, He was under the Old Covenant system. He also only ate certain foods, as prescribed by the Old Covenant. Christ was water baptized by John and then received the Holy Spirit from heaven. The order is reversed in the New Covenant. A person receives the Holy Spirit upon conversion, and then believers often declare their conversion to their friends and family through a New Covenant water baptism ceremony.

The conversion process is described below.

Eph 1:12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
Eph 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

(A person must “hear” the Gospel, and “believe” the Gospel, and will then be “sealed” with the Holy Spirit.)

Which baptism is a part of the salvation process, based on what the Bible says?
What did Peter say below?

Acts 11:15 And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning.
Acts 11:16 Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.

Based on Luke 3:16, and John 1:33, and Acts 11:15-16, the most important thing about the word "baptize" in the New Testament has nothing to do with water. The Holy Spirit is the master teacher promised to New Covenant believers in Jeremiah 31:34, and John 14:26, and is found fulfilled in Ephesians 1:13, and 1 John 2:27. Unfortunately, many modern Christians see water when they read the word "baptize" in the text.

Based on the above, what is the one baptism of our faith found in the passage below? How many times is the word "Spirit" found in the passage, and how many times is the word "water" found in the passage?

Eph 4:1 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
Eph 4:2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
Eph 4:3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
Eph 4:4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
Eph 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism, (See 1 Cor. 12:13)

“baptize” KJV

Mat_3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:

Mar_1:8 I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.

Mar 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. (Water or Holy Spirit?, See Eph. 1-13.)

Luk_3:16 John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:

Joh_1:26 John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not;

Joh_1:33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.

1Co_1:17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.

1Co 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. (See Eph. 4:1-5)

Heb 9:10 Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation. (Old Covenant - New Covenant)

How many people have been saved by the Old Covenant water baptism of John the Baptist?

Who did John the Baptist say is the greatest Baptist that ever lived in Luke 3:16? What kind of New Covenant baptism comes from Christ?

New Covenant water baptism is a beautiful ceremony which allows new believers to declare their conversion to the whole world.

I had this conversation and got 2 different answers, one was yes as it acknowledges my willingness. The other answer was a question, even though I did not honor my covenant with God, does that mean God won't honor it? Regardless of us, He is Faithful

First I think she is talking about speaking in tongues as a Pentecostal/apostolic belief.

Secondly, I was rebaptized because I knew I was baptized I correctly.

Corey, you mentioned two baptisms, baptism in the Holy Spirit and water baptism? Yet by the time Paul wrote Ephesians, he said there was only one baptism (Eph. 4:5). The only baptism around today is the baptism of the Great Commission which is water baptism. There are only two cases of baptism in the Holy Spirit recorded in the New Testament --on the day of Pentecost upon the apostles (Acts 2:1-4; cf. Acts 1:5) and the household of Cornelius (Acts 10) to show that God was accepting the Gentiles.

The reference to the Holy Spirit baptism in (Acts 10) is revealing from another aspect. The men who accompanied Peter to Cornelius' house were quite surprised to witness what the saw there, not only because it happened to a Gentile, but also because it was similar to what had happened in the beginning to the apostles (Acts 11:15), indicating that what had happened there was out of the ordinary and not part of the normal process of salvation or conversion. Holy Spirit baptism was not the one baptism (Eph. 4:5) of the Great Commission; that was water baptism (cf. Acts 8:36). Therefore, there is only one baptism today, not two.

What she means is. Some people say it has to be in Jesus name. Not the Father Son and Holy Spirit.
