Is signalling before checking the mirrors better than mirrors before signalling? Isn't the sequence

Additionally, when you're pulling off from the kerb, is there any need to check the left blind spot and mirror? Two instructors I've had used different methods for that. One had me check all around and the other had me check only the right hand side stuff. It seems only checking the right would be more efficient and just as safe, since there's no hazard from the left side. You're pulling off from a kerb. If it were from a parking bay or something, it would be different.

Great videos. Quite helpful. However, I learned in my lessons that I should first look at the mirror and then indicate. However, in the 123 rule it says indicate and then look at the mirror. In my opinion, it makes sense to first look at the mirror and see if no one is too close and if indicating won’t panic others and then finally indicate.
