Heating some spices in the pan before adding everything really deepens the flavor. For example, black pepper, celery and mustard seeds.

Just searched this as I just harvested a big pile of Lemon drop peppers:) Used them, a big homegrown black tomato, ginger and garlic too and some turmeric to boost the colour. Nice kick. Took me 20 mins and now I have a jar of awesome hot sauce. Nice.

I love your style, mate. I love the way how you go straight to the recipe, with no bullshit, unlike most of youtubers. Keep it up <3

Oookay. First of all, I pressed like within 30 seconds just for that fire pun. Loving it.
Then... How do you not die just from cooking it uncovered?!
Finally... MAN the dedication!!! I would have never asked you to taste this straight from the jar lol. Your pain is real. Good job Wil :'D

I made some homemade pulled pork (seitan recipe from Avocado and Ales) the other day and decided to have it over some homemade Chinese noodles last night and I wish I had this sauce prior to cooking them as I chose to grab a jar of chilli broad bean paste from my fridge without looking at the list of ingredients first and noticing that chilli was the first ingredient. To say it was a "bit hot" is a huge understatement! I think your delicious looking sauce would have been a much better option. I am going to try this next time. Thank you for sharing it :)

I've followed you for several years and just found this old video of yours - great as always!
I was wondering is it possible to use apple cider vinegar (with the mother) for this alone? As that's the only vinegar I use and would rather not have to buy a whole different bottle/type of vinegar as that would sort of defeat the object for me 😊🙏

My mouth is watering. I need to make this. BTW where do I get these peppers in USA... East Coast?

One question:It looked like you had a lit of liquid in that pot but just put a small amount of liquid in the blender with the peppers. Was that all the ingredients from the pot into the blender or mainly just the peppers? Thanks!

Hi Wil- we made a fresh jalapeño and dried scotch bonnets/dried multicolored Thai bird chili’s version this morning. The green jalapeños dominated and the sauce is a dark green. It’s pretty fiery! This is our 3rd batch from your recipe.
👍

I like a little heat, but not really "hot." How would you suggest I scale back on the peppers? And btw, what are "scotch bonnets?" Thanks.

I usually buy Melinda's XXXX Habanero Hot Sauce in the 12 pack but a few years ago I grew my own habanero peppers on my deck. I make a hot sauce very similar to the video but I used some carrot and onion and lime juice in mine. I left the lid on the blender for 15 minutes to let it settle and when I lifted the lid I still pepper sprayed myself. It was a chemical area denial weapon for the entire kitchen. Good hot sauce, though.

I've been waiting for your hot sauce recipe! Fortunately, I have all of the peppers on hand because I LOVE SPICY food, and the hotter the better. Only thing, I have canned chipotles not dried. It should be okay. Can't wait to make it! Thanks again!
