Nintendo takes down Yuzu & Citra emulators

Shit. Rip Yuzu and Citra. Those guys were some of the best emulators out there.

They COULD use all this money to keep the 3DS servers up and running instead of shutting them down, but we all know they're gonna use it in some way that will magically piss everyone off.

To explain why Nintendo went after the team who made the Citra & Yuzu emulators, people were uploading new Switch games such as ToTK & Mario Wonder online a day before they officially released. The Yuzu team was unaware of it and let it slide, so they pretty much shot themselves in the foot with this lawsuit.

Citra is the biggest loss here, we have Ryujinx, but there's no 3DS emulator anywhere near as good as Citra.

Thank goodness I have both of them before they were taken down. They may be gone but it's not the end, as with just a little elbow grease, they live on.

The only thing that made me pissed off was that they went after Citra. Why would they go for an emulator for a dead system? What is the point when they themselves dont even give a shit about the 3DS anymore? This is just as stupid as when they put that recent update just to stop people from modding their 3DS's

no doubt people are either gonna make a fork of citra due to it being by far the best 3ds emulator to exist, but yuzu itself is unlikely due to better products out there i will refrain from naming as to not paint an unwated target on my back as well as anyone involved with it

I have both Citra and Yuzu installed via the linux flatpak method, both of them seemed to make one final update this morning. So after that I decided to lock them both down using the warehouse flatpak manager. They are both still working.

A lot of people are missing the point entirely, Having a Patreon to fund an emulator for a console still on the market was a really bad idea. If you're gonna do this stuff, you do it for free!
