INFO COMMENT: They cannot possibly LEGALLY destroy any/all emulators. Emulators are not breaking any laws, and are legal. The only reason Yuzu was taken down was because they relyed on something called "production keys" that the switch has. Nintendo argued that it's impossible to obtain those legally, and so they fought against them in court. Yuzu then settled, and agreed to the following: Pay nintendo big money, Team who made Yuzu stop making emulators forever, and Yuzu team must remove all emulators they have ever made. This is also why Citra (3ds) was taken down. The Yuzu team was also the team who made Citra.

TLDR: Yuzu relies on """illegal""" file. Nintendo fought Yuzu in court. Yuzu settles. Yuzu dies. Yuzu team also made Citra, so Citra dies too.

the thing about emulators too, *especially* old nintendo consoles like the NES, SNES, GBA, GB, etc. is that it's an accessible way for homebrew developers to not only test their own code, but also provides useful debugging tools.

I love developing homebrew, and writing music for both my own and other people's homebrew.
nintendo is *hurting* homebrew devs by doing this. while I don't dev for the NES much, the GBA and the DS are huge parts of who I am. I have the hardware to test on, but I still prefer running my own software on emulator cause it's quicker and faster.

However Yuzu Is not innocent here, They actually monetized the emulator and had patches behind a paywall on patreon

Honestly, Nintendo taking down these emulators is justified since they yuzu people were making money from those emulators, which is a huge no-no on these terms.
