I never really understood the mentality of "I'll train my ABS once I lose some bodyfat first". You still need to BUILD your abs if you want them to be well defined. So doesn't it make more sense to train them WHILE losing weight so when they finally show, they look AMAZING?

If you had fluffy arms you wouldn't wait to train your biceps and triceps untill you lost weight right? Of course not! So why the different mentality when it comes to ABS?

Now SOME people say they don't do it because they don't want to increase the size of their waist. As if it's THAT EASY to build abs quickly right? Reminds me of those people who say "I don't want to get TOO BIG"... and it's their second day at the gym... lol

Took the advice from coach greg that you dont need to work abs and i usually like his advice but i wish I had ignored it sooner. Strong, high endurance abs help so exceptionally much on other lifts and my abs look so much more defined now since I've started working them

The other thing about progressively overloading on core movements is how much they will show at a higher body fat. Alpha Destiny and Natural Hypertrophy have had visible cores at 15+ percent body fat. Even when thinking about the athletic applications via specific core exercises (anti extension, anti rotation, anti lateral flexion, and rotational strength), this principle still applies. I do 5 days a week in the gym. 3 upper 2 lower, but on my rest days I've been doing abs at home. Sits ups, leg raises, and either Russian twists or bicycle crunchs.

I only have the 2 upper abs and no matter how much weight i lose it doesn't seem to show the others so do you recommend i incorporate resistance abs training and can i do it without weight and how !!
