I’ve had problems 3 years of this. I read to use pure organic caster oil-first cold press-hexane free. I put 1 drop in each eye at bedtime- went to sleep-warm wet wash rag compress if needed. Works so great! Did this every night for a week. Gone gone😊 changed my life back to normal 😊. Caster oil is anti fungal/anti viral/anti bacterial 😁

Warm pads on the eyes, and then massage from the inside out along the lids. Worked for me, and the warm mask really helped.

I was diagnosed with this 3 years ago. I told the dr I have had this problem since childhood. Now 70. First time any optometrist ever diagnosed this. He recommended a few drops of baby shampoo in a cup of water applied to the eyelids. I use Johnson's baby shampoo. I didn't pursue this until 1 day it felt like my eyes were being invaded. I tried this treatment, instantly the itching went away. I do this ever few weeks and it does help out. I apply with a dropper and rub the solution into eyelids and leave for 12 minutes. Then wipe eyelids with water.

My eye doctor told me to wash my eyes every day morning with "Johnsons" baby shampoo. For these so-called eye mites. Don't bother with the cheaper brand it's not as good.. Get a good lather going and rub thoroughly in your lashes. Give a good rinse off... I have always had dry itchy patches of dry skin /eczema on my cheeks. I was so excited that the baby shampoo cleared my face up too!! My allergy eyes have also improved because I didn't even know pollen gets stuck in your lashes. 🤔👍

As Dr. Cohen recommends, I use hypochlorous acid with pads once or twice daily, which does a lot to relieve discomfort. There also are wipes with tea tree oil added — these products help decrease demodex mite counts, but they cost more.

On an optometrist’s recommendation, I also wash my eyelids with Aveeno baby shampoo when showering or just washing my face. Johnson’s baby shampoo doesn’t seem to work as well, possibly because of the added coloring.

Apparently the case that I have is most likely tied to my horrible case of Crohn's as this is about the sixth autoimmune disorder I've had since I've gotten Crohn's actually I got colitis before Crohn's and colitis did most of the damage to me but Crohn's open the whole body up to attack. And mine certainly has been under it😢

Doctor, is it an allergy to the secretions of the mites or does it come from an over population of them? I think that You have given me new hope for these 63 yo red ringed itchy crusty eyes . I have had constant sinus watery drainage since I was a preteen. I think I’m basically allergic to the mites or the bacteria in their excrement, as they survive on our dead skin. Gonna start right away! And I may need antibiotics too but thats another decision.

Xdemvy is now FDA approved for Demodex mites. So new your local pharmacy won't have it but when your doctor prescribes it, they make arrangements for you to get it.
PS - interesting video of the doctor in your office squeezing the lids.

Just need to get in a hot shower every day and use a strong bar soap like safeguard. Rub the soap on and kind of grind your pointer finger back and forth along the lid while hot water runs over them. Repeat 2-3 times. If you get out and look in the mirror and see crust still sticking to your eyelashes, you didn’t do it long enough. When you get out and are dried off, take a splash of Witchhazel on face and eyes gently rub until dry. It has 14% alcohol in it so it’ll dry quickly. This will bring relief to the outer eye lids. Apply a drop or two of Opcon A or similar product to reduce the redness and itch of the whites of the eyes. Repeat this every day. Relief will be quick but stay at it for at least 5 days. Then you may go back to showering every other day if you prefer for skin and hair health. Repeat regimen if it returns.

I solved it with Castor Oil, and cutting out 98% of potato intake and in so doing reduced the amount of oxalates that was going into my body. Eye issues are to do with oxalates and it is also proven scientifically that oxalates are the cause of torn retina's due to oxalates being a contributory factor in degeneration of the eyes.

I got rid of demodex mites around my eyes by using Manuka honey eye drops. I'd previously used bicarbonate of soda solution, , which certainly helped - and even got rid of the bags under my eyes induced by the mites. But I couldn't get rid of every last mite. I read that Manuka honey eye drops worked, and they did. Very quickly. The mites were gone within two breeding cycles (a couple of weeks or so). They've never returned. I keep on with the eye drops because they also have a powerful anti-biotic effect - and as a prophylactic against future mite infestations. I'd highly recommend using it for anyone with persistant mite problems.
