Let’s put an end to the CARBS confusion!

Feeling overwhelmed by conflicting advice on carbs and insulin resistance? You’re not alone! The wellness world can be a minefield of myths. Here’s the truth: complex carbs are not the enemy – they’re essential for managing insulin resistance.

The Big Fat Carb Lie:
The misconception that all carbs worsen insulin resistance is simply untrue. Simple carbohydrates, like white bread, pastries, and sugary drinks, cause rapid blood sugar spikes. These spikes can overwhelm your body’s ability to produce or utilize insulin effectively. However, complex carbs are a different story.

Fiber Powerhouse: Complex carbs, found in whole grains, legumes, fruits, and vegetables, are packed with fiber. Fiber slows down glucose absorption, preventing those blood sugar spikes and promoting sustained energy levels.

Nutrient Rich: These carbs come bundled with a treasure trove of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants – crucial for overall health and cellular function. In nature, carbs aren’t isolated; they come with a symphony of nutrients that work together for optimal health.

Friend to Your Gut: Complex carbs are also a source of prebiotics, which feed the good bacteria in your gut. A healthy gut microbiome is linked to improved insulin sensitivity – another win for complex carbs!

Focus on Quality, Not Quantity:
While complex carbs are your allies, portion control is still important. Refined grains and added sugars can still contribute to blood sugar issues.
Here's what to embrace:
Whole grains like brown rice, quinoa, and oats
Legumes like lentils, beans, and chickpeas
Fruits and vegetables in a rainbow of colors

Simple Carbs to Minimize:
White bread, pasta, and refined grains
Sugary drinks and processed snacks
Pastries and desserts

Let's ditch the demonization of carbs and focus on a balanced approach! Embrace complex carbs, limit simple carbs, and enjoy a vibrant plate that nourishes your body and supports healthy blood sugar management.

Typically the carbs that are referred to Keto and carnivore diets, they are referring to fiberglass carbs that are not nutrient-dense and turn to sugar almost immediately!

Oh yeah? put on a continuous glucose monitor then eat a typical serving of rice.

Watch as your blood sugar levels go to the moon.

What do you think that does to your insulin levels and insulin resistance? 🤔
