As a woman, I started at 21% of body fat, in 5 months it went down to 12% due to doing CrossFit everyday and eating really healthy.. I noticed a lot of mood changes, irritability, stress, and overall my mental health is horrible.. I am working to get back to my 20% body fat since I felt mentally amazing🥑! Remember ladies, a down number in body fat doesn’t mean “healthy”!

My doctor told me to stop having intimate dinners for four. Unless there are three other people.

I weigh myself every day, it's helped me loose 35 lbs in 4 months. It's not 100% accurate, but it if it's going up and up, every time you step on the scale, it's not just water. You're gaining weight and I had to get a reality check.

I've gotten into the practice of only stepping on a scale when my doctor tells me I have to. There really is no need to otherwise, in my opinion at least. I think there's the real danger of becoming discouraged by the numbers on the scale not changing as fast as you hope, and just giving up before you've even really let yourself get started. This isn't a sprint, it's a marathon. Go easy on yourselves. Nobody is perfect. You're not going to always make the best food choices and THAT'S OK! I'm incredibly happy that I found Autumn and the AENpeeps to turn to for advice and encouragement. You CAN do this and you ARE worth it!!!

As a weight lifter I love this! I’m at a solid 19-20% (haven’t done a BFP scan in a few weeks). I’d love to see if I can get to 18-17 just to try and see what it takes as an experiment someday. But for now trying to conceive baby number four with husband so I’m just maintaining for now. Very informative and easy to watch! ❤️

I would love a video comparing the accuracy of various means of measuring body fat. Callipers va scale vs dexa scan

I have two stories from friends on why I hate using a scale:

1) There was this girl I knew in high school. She was overweight (maybe even obese) and she wanted to loose weight. One time after about 3 months of specialized training and some diet she lost around 10 pounds. At this time I was really shocked because at this time, 10 pounds every 3-4 weeks was considered the "normal" for weight loss. And there was no way she only lost 10 pounds in those 3 months. She had gotten into weightlifting and in those 3 months she lost something like 30 lbs of fat and gained 20 lbs of muscle. (It's been a long time since this happened, so the numbers are a little fuzzy to me but you get the idea). Anyways, I was just so shocked at how inaccurate the "almighty scale" was.

2)Fast forward to a couple of years ago, another friend had a health scare and was basically ordered by her doctor to loose weight and got my friend onto an exercise and diet plan with regular check ins. One checkin, I was with my friend and she came out in tears because she GAINED weight (maybe by 4 lbs). A nurse followed her out and looked stunned because of my friends reaction (she'd been working very hard and since it was a massive lifestyle change, it took every ounce of will power and self control to stick with her program). Anyways, the nurse handed my friend a copy of the file, report, whatever it was and had to run to the back to help someother patient. Anyways, my friend let me look over her file and rembering that girl from high school, I looked for her body fat percentage (seeing at this was information much more easily attainable than from my high school days). I pointed out that while yes, she had gained weight, it was a mix of muscle mass and water retention. And that since her last check in she lost fat mass.

I took an in body test and had 21.9 percent body fat. The person reading it said I needed to increase my muscle tone (I have 60.6 lbs of muscle). So, I’m hitting the gym harder 😂😂

I was having a mental breakdown after seeing I was 18%... this video just gave me so much perspective and a little switch just went off in my brain with regards to seeking proper information and education

I just did an in-body test and found out what my BFP is! I've been looking for info like this (and have found the bare minimum) so this is awesome timing. Can't wait to watch :)

I measure my body fat by looking down at my gut. If I have one it is too high! 🙂⚘

I’ve been as low as 9%. That was when I was a high school senior, when I swam every day. I got up to way higher than I’d like to admit in my early 30’s, but eventually made some healthy habits and got down to 14%. I’ve been bulking for the last 6 months, and I’m up to 18% now. I’m going on a cut for 10-12 weeks, starting next week. I want to get back to 14%. Wish me luck!

This video was so helpful! I gained a few pounds (after losing 20 with IF) after implementing more strength training and was so down about it. I took my body fat percentage and it’s still 20% (what it was at my lower weight) so I’m glad it’s just muscle!

I appreciate the reminder about water retention and glycogen because in December I was super clean with my diet and worked out a ton and than January/February with school starting I’ve eaten less healthy, more stress eating and barely any exercise I gained the 5lbs I worked to lose in that month but lately I cleaned up my diet just a litttle and I immediately lost 4 out of the 5 lbs I had “gained”

Hey Autumn! Can you make a video about how to calculate the ideal caloric intake we need to have if we have to lose weight, maintain weight and gain weight? I know that people with more muscle would need more calories but how much more? And can you also discuss the variation in required caloric intake for both genders at the same weight? Thanks!
