Reason 1 to NOT Get the Apple Watch Ultra

If I wasn’t a reviewer, could I justify to pony up the extra $300 dollars +/-$30 for the Ultra over the Series 8? That’s a 50% price increase to go from the Series 8 to the Ultra.

I bought it because I was due for an upgrade anyway, I always get stainless steel so the extra cost was minimal, I like the design, size and battery life so it was absolutely worth it over the S7/8 stainless.

Personally for me as someone who has been using the ultra since November 2022, I don’t use the features like the dive computer or compass. I got it specifically for its durability, as I am constantly doing construction related projects and am always in an attic or craw space with a bunch of hand and power tools. Before this watch I had a series 7 that was exposed to the same thing and the screen got severely scratched to where some scratches could be mistaken as cracked glass. While my ultra still looks fresh out the box, not a single scratch on the display

Traded in my S7 and love the AWU. I can charge it every 3 days instead of daily & it’s durable. No screen protectors or bumpers needed

I totally understand where you’re coming from, but as a reviewer, you shouldn’t try to sway people away from getting some thing they really want, I personally think that the $300 difference is totally justifiable, I don’t want my watch dying on me if I forget to charge it, that alone makes me want to keep it

50% increase? Ain’t it supposed to be more than 100% increase? From 399 to 799. 2 Apple Watch series 8 aluminum will cost 798 USD. A 50% increase is where you increase your current value by an additional half. You can find this value by finding half of your current value and adding this onto the value. For example, if you wanted to find what a 50% increase to 400 was, you'd divide by 2 to get 200, and add the two values together to get 600.
