Im a struggling catholic. Ive recently gotten back into my faith, but every day is a struggle. A priest that I am close with is trying to get be to hear a call to the priesthood, and though I am trying to train myself to hear that call, I don't know If i want it. I feel like if I fully believe in God, then there is nothing more important than me becoming a priest. I am such a scientifically focused mind that leaving it up to "having faith" isn't enough for me. It is frustrating because I want to be 100% in the faith, but my own mind is stopping me from going all in.

I'm a catholic, but every time I hear a Thomistic explanation it just comes across as such garbage. Why can no one explain this stuff well? I'm a THEIST and this doesn't convince me to this day... thank God for the gift of faith I guess

This explanation can only stem from a sadly unsuccessfull education in natural sciences. A combination of, at best, popular scientific understanding of physics and unproportionally long time spent studying philosophy from a theological angle is a recipie for a sad cake.

I'm familiar enough with them to know they aren't proofs for the existence of god. Aquinas presented arguments/premises for the existence of a god.
