I went to get my SIN at the Sinclair Centre you showed in the video and the woman working outside managing the queue was really helpful, told me how long it would be if I wait now and what time the queue usually starts so I didn't have to hang around all day and not get seen to

Excellent video! All great tips! One more on initial entry: of you're on a working holiday visa, it'll have a limited time on it, two years from Ireland. You want to make the most of that time, so when you arrive, you can say you're on holiday. You can stay in Canada for up to a maximum of three months just on holiday. You won't be able to work, but that's fine. You can take that time to settle in, look around for where you'd like to live and work and once you've done that, go and validate your work visa, either by popping across the border into the US and doing it on the way home, or, I believe you can stop by an airport and do it there. The only caveat to this is obviously, you'll have to take the time to validate the visa before you can accept a job offer or get a SIN.

Getting out and joining a club is a great tip! When we first arrived, I googled by nearest board game store, found out their game nights, and very quickly made friends that I still have today, 12 years later.

6:31 "Canadiarize your Resume"
Who are those unicorns who are able to come to Canada without job contract?

6:15 "ship you SIMcard anywhere in the World"
Do they have eSIM option?
My smartphone supports eSIM, so I don't need to wait for the postal service to bring me SIM from Canada.

5:58 "per device"
So I can just buy it for my smartphone and then share it to other devices by tethering or creating hotspot?

Hi mate, really appreciate the content and help - as someone with major anxiety this process has been very overwhelming! However, I have now recieved my IEC port of entry letter - does this mean i have an entire year to "activate" it? So circa March 2024 will be its expiry? Also.. on this visa, if i was to fly home for Xmas (to England) would I be allowed back in the country easily or am I just overthinking this? Thanks

It’s super expensive and we are full no vacancies!
