The 5600 is already the budget king when you can find it combo'd with a motherboard. Can get them for 160 if you're patient or 170-180$ all day

3600 still going strong here, even the 2600 and 2400G.

It’s found its home in my 3060 Ti build.

Peoples of YT, (and ZTT if he has time.) I am currently gaming on a Core i3 3rd gen, mix-and-match 16Gb ddr3 and a gtx 1060 3Gb by msi.
I am saving up for upgrades, hopefully a B550 mobo, 16-32 gigs of ddr4, and nvme or ssd because hdd is killing me, as well as a Ryzen 5 5600 since the 1060 isn’t that bad.
If anyone has any better suggestions please let me know, fam not really in the gaming pc space and can’t focus on something like that for me at the moment.

I've seen the R5 5500 for like 80 bucks, kinda feel like it's the current CPU goat on the AMD side. The i5 10400 is pretty good too. Intel is currently the smarter option for DDR5 support as AMD has only supported it for 1 generation thus far, whereas intel has done it for 3 so more used chips.
