For the terrible parent story, I remember a previous story about a kid who called their dad saying their pet "Molly" was dead and the dad thought they said that "mommy" was dead. That man dropped everything, sped through every light, had the police following him all the way home. Like imagine how much of an unfeeling person you have to be to hear "hey spouse, you wife is dead and your daughter has been living with her dead body for about a day now" and just continuing for the entire week. Like seriously, tell your boss there was an emergency and they'll probably understand, and if they can't do it anyway and put their ass on blast.

One of my older brothers did to me what the brother in the last story did for 10 years. I was ages 3 to 13. When I told our parents what was going on they didn't believe me so it continued. When I was little I didn't know anything about calling the police. When I was older and did tell someone outside of the family and the police got involved my parents covered for my brother. My parents apologized years later for not believing me before they both passed away. That brother never apologized or admitted what he did before he passed away a couple months ago.
Not only does the OP need therapy, I think he should sincerely apologize to his sister. At least he feels guilty and disgusted unlike my brother.

Story 2: OP no one saying you can’t eventually move on you should be able to. But you basically moved a complete stranger into the house and didn’t give your daughter time to know him. And when she was upset your decision to completely dismiss her feelings. Now normal circumstance I would say it’s been three years, I think it has been enough time for you to move on. But this girl spent 24 hours with her mother’s body, then we kept getting pushed around from plate to place until her father eventually came home.

Honestly, it’s not surprising she’s clingy to you her only parent, one that she won’t see for weeks at at time because you take regular business trips. She needs to know you won’t forget her mom, and that you won’t abandon her for someone else. I’m also curious if you got her counseling after that traumatic experience.
