Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold Review | BUY or SKIP?!

There's a lot of heated competition around the best foldable phone and the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold intends to be a part of that conversation. This year's notebook style foldable gets a new makeover, complete with slimmer bezels, a thinner chassis, and a more durable design. Powered by the Tensor G4 chip, it's a much needed upgrade to help it execute all the new AI features it introduces -- like Add Me, Gemini Live, and more multitasking. There are also some minor camera upgrades packaged along, but given that it's still pricey at $1,799, it might be tougher to convince phone shoppers.

How do you guys feel about this one? Are you going to Buy or Skip?! the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold? 📱

This is definitely one of the lazier reviews of this phone that I've seen. Rehashing the same thing everyone else says and not really having any unique opinions.

Some of the cons mentioned seem odd considering the pros mentioned. The price is listed as a con, but then its mentioned that the phone has been improved significantly over last year's model and the price wasn't increased.

The reviewer listed all the AI features as useful, but then goes on to recommend the One Plus Open because it's cheaper which has none of these features and whose software is definitely not as polished as the Pixel Fold or Galaxy Fold.

It's mentioned the phone is smooth and works perfectly in every day use but as a con it has lower benchmark scores than competitors.

Then the cameras are listed as a "downgrade" yet they remain similar to last year's model which was rated as the best camera on a foldable.

So skip the pixel 9 pro fold bc it’s $1799? That’s so dumb how you say that and state the one plus open is $1699 and even cheaper with a $100 trade in value for any phone. Googles trade in value is pretty bad but at least you get well over $100 with their trade ins bringing the price way under one plus open. Make it make sense.

Skip because of $100 difference when you’re paying $1500+ for any option? Seems like a dumb reason lol

Hard to summarize all the ways this review sucks, but I will point out that you said it’s not the thinnest foldable (despite every other review saying it is), and then you didn’t clarify which foldable is thinner.

Pixel pro fold price is $800 after trade in. How is that a worse deal lmao

This was barely a review. The guy listed some features and provided practically no personal insight.

Most people aren't going to care or notice the things you said at the end about skipping it

Just bought mine too! Sadly, it ships in mid October 😢

Edit: except the price. Everyone will be scared away from it because of that and I'm still kicking myself lol

Already on Fi, it helps that the preorder bonus takes $400 off if you activate it on a existing line. Love my Pixel 8 pro and will keep it as a backup

If the camereras was the same as Pixel 9 Pro XL id buy it. As for the power of the SOC I don't care about CPU/GPU performance anymore. I think they are ll overpowered for what most of us need. Comparing my old Pixel 2 to my Pixel 8 even the old Pixel 2 is not bad. I care more about the rest of the SOC e.g. codecs, modem, TPUs etc. As long as they run cool and efficient and they are smarter I'm happy.

Wait did I miss the part when you're going to clearly tell us whether you recommend it to be bought or skipped? Instead you ask us to tell you in the comments? 🤣

I don't need more AI, I just want them to focus on better hardware. Google is still behind with its cameras making it even harder to justify its price.

Was this review written by Gemini, because it contains no more information than could be derived from the phones store page...

With this price tag $100 is not "much" cheaper, I chose stock pixel android over anything

Hard to understand, talking too fast to comprehend properly. 😢

You can relatively easily use the main camera to take better quality selfies than the 9 Pro and the XL.

My only issue is the giant front hinge bezels especially on the corner. Man that an eye sore

I decided to get it through Google. Got $650 for my Samsung s24 ultra and $350 Google store credit. I plan on getting the new buds with it and still have money left (maybe nicer case) Yes it's an expensive phone but I've been gravitating towards Google phones the past 3 years. I'm really liking them more than Samsung. I tried going all Samsung but so far I only like their ultra watch. The new Samsung buds keep falling out.
