This video saved me! As a new Linux user, I was completely lost when it came to the TDP of my AMD APU. The GPU wasn't boosting anywhere near as much as it did on Windows.
Added the gamemode command on Steam and boom, all good now. Thanks.

I just installed Nobara 2 days ago. Games were the last thing holding me back from a transition away from windows 11. With steam and Proton experimental every game I have tried so far works flawlessly. 100% compatibility so far. And 95%? performance? Pretty impressed.

Man, I've been looking for making the change from Windows to Linux for a while now. And before I made the change, I was looking for a comprehensive guide like this for a very long time. And you know what? I'm surprised to see how easy everything is easy to setup. Great video, man! I hope this helps more people get into Linux once and for all.

I mainly use MSFS 2020 (steam version only) and X-Plane 12 on linux ans the fastest distro I've found is Solus OS 4.5 at this time. Surprisingly faster than Nobara ! Beside the fact that it took days to download MSFS, both sims work fine with Linux.

Very good sumary on what exists. This is more an AMD GPU guide as it's more integrated thanks to mesa. nVidia is still a mess. They fixed wayland and xwayland only for games to not know frame order anymore... I'm also waiting for HDR to work to switch my games to it.

Potential I-Gpu Stutter Fix:

Hey guys, I just wanted to share that on my Laptop with integrated graphics, I got stuttering issues with Fedora. I tried out LMDE 6, and to my suprise every single game ive ran with it has been buttery smooth without any extra software, tricks, or launch commands (Overwatch 2, Lethal Company with mods, Battlebit, Elden ring has slight stutters now and then but its not bad and I think thats due to the laptop hardware) straight from steam!

Linux Benchmarks did say Nobara may have fixed the stuttering issues too as it may have more preinstalled packages for IGpus (and if thats true it may be a better option to have more up to date software), but for right now everything is working perfectly fine with LMDE 6 so I wont be distro hopping anytime soon!

Hope this helps some of you, and thanks for the video Linux Benchmarks!

EDIT : So I loved LMDE but wanted something a bit slimmer. Went with debian minimal and installed xfce on it. Got the same stuttering, so I did some trouble shooting and long story short auto partitioning during setup set my swap partition to 1gb lol. I loaded gparted on a usb and increased my swap partition to 10gb (may be a bit overboard but my laptop only has 8gb of ram so dont want anything to fully freeze my laptop), seemed to get rid of the stutter!

Thanks for your rock solid Linux Gaming tutorial also which gaming emulators do you use to play with during testing and which benchmark software do you like on Linux

Mangohud can also limit your FPS which is very useful if you're using more than one monitor with different refreshrates as vsync will sync to the monitor with the lowest refreshrate, at least using X11. Of course, if you use a monitor per graphics card, it's not a problem, only when multiple monitors are plugged into the same graphics card. With a 72hz monitor and a 144hz monitor in my case vsync fixes the fps to 72 on my 144hz. When disabling vsync and letting Mangohud frame limit to 144 it's a very clean experience, but there's still a little bit of screen tearing.
So I'm really hoping gaming on Wayland will fix these issues, because it's pretty normal for Linux users and in particular Linux gamers, to have more than one monitor now - and game on one of them.

I use linux, ubuntu and many more, and realy work vell games on linux, on a couple of years, but there are some games which just not run linux. For example Destiny 2, Fivem, andPC Game Pass. I really got to the point where I can use Linux with pleasure, but there are factors that unfortunately make me unable to. But the video was very helpful. Thanks.

Gaming worked fine for me with the exceptions of the games that will just never work on Linux like Valorant. The things that bothered me was the stuff not to do with gaming. Like my browser crashing constantly watching youtube videos or watching amazon prime video. things like that it can work good for a while then all a sudden just break in an update and not work for weeks at a time. For me i'll just stick to windows 10 until 2025 then hopefully Linux will be more ready for mainstream.

as 28 Linux user. i know that the problem with games is the close of the graphics drivers are. and the lack of games developed native for linux. then linux can't compete in game related stuff. not for kernel problem is for companies do not develop for Linux
