If you were doing the second example for the ratios (painting the house), could you write a proportion?
If so, can you please write the proportion and explain.
If you cannot, how can you tell the difference between when you need to write a proportion and when you need to use other methods.

In the 2nd example for the 30% off sale, you do X - .3X. What value does the X, on the left, represent?

For the total bill at the restaurant question, couldn't you just multiply 36.12 x .20
That way, if the percent is not a number like 20, the answer would always come out the same? Btw thanks for the helpful videos!

For percents its easier jf u do the ratio method then cross multiply
