I grew up in Henderson, Nv. so close to Hoover Dam--I have seen the movie on making the actual dam as well as the engineering behind it--TOTALLY YEARS BEFORE ITS TIME!! So amazing!!! I have taken many tours down into the dam--our neighbor escorted tours on the weekends!!! I was is awe of it as a little child and I am still as an adult!!! I am 61 now and have not been to the dam in 33 years. There is no doubt it is a wonder it was ever completed---my grandkids could not believe men actually hung by ropes and no A/C or cell phone were used!! Their Grandpa retired to Boulder City and showed them the dam---they were 4 and 6 and a bit intimidated--as we all should be at this amazing wonder!!! The great men that actually did the manual labor are heros' in my book!!!

remember, there were no computers to do calculations. it was all done with knowledge and experience, pencil and paper. the bypass tunnels were a marvel of engineering by themselves. there is a documentary out in this. great video
