When I was going through transition it scared the heck out of me. I was going to my doc asking if I could be hitting menopause. He said that I was too young and put me on anti-depressants, told me I was imagining all my symptoms and the anti-depressants left me a walking zombie for 3.5 years until my kids finally broke down crying and begged me to stop taking them because they missed me. Let that be a warning to any woman transitioning into menopause. DO NOT LET A DOCTOR TELL YOU YOU'RE CRAZY. DO NOT LET THEM PUT YOU ON ANTI-DEPRESSANTS. They are not your answer at this time of your life. I found bhrt on my own as no doc will prescribe it for me and all they will do is fear monger. I'm a changed woman for the better.

I am about 18 months past my last period. Have been ketovore and fasting for the past 4 years and had not one menopause symptom. Other lifestyle tools - sleep, sun, walking, eating with the seasons/locally, quit drinking.

I am 7 years after my last period (58), and the doctor tried to give me Premarin because I had chronic bladder infections once a month for a year and I felt clinically depressed and suicidal. I have severe untreated IBD (I am currently managing through higher protein), and I was on antibiotics for each month of 2023! I have a horrible health care system where I live and doctors that DO NOT listen to me. As well, I do not have resources to supplement thoroughly.

I have a one day a week job at a health food store. I really love your work and I'm getting your book today. Thank you for your help. I'm just going to continue advocating for myself.

At 53 I had a hysterectomy due to tumours. I tried HRT for 9 months and it was TERRIBLE for me. I researched and decided to go off the patch and start Keto and IF. Best thing I ever did for myself! Made a world of difference and six years later I still swear by it.

Ty for this video Dr Mindy! 2 questions : 1) when you end fast at 1 or 2:00, how do you get your body weight in protein before you go to bed? Do you eat a lot of protein in 2 meals? Or do you eat every 2 hours?
2) Would you mind sharing your thoughts on cyclic BHRT, where doses are high for mind/heart/bone protection but it often brings back a cycle. Is this natural ? Would love your thoughts as I highly value your opinion. Thank you💖

I want to see a video on why some menopausal women like me are NOT losing despite IF. Is a 3 day fast the only way to get things moving?

Yes!! I can’t handle stress at all lately! I get irritated SO easily, I annoy myself. I’m 56. I fast and just added some natural hormones.

During my transition, I didn't experience hot flashes but cold flashes. I had to order an inflatable jacuzzi to be able to get to deal with them ... as in mid summer I would suddenly feel frozen to my bones... I never hear anyone talking about women having "cold flashes" during menopause transition, you also don't mention it in your video... but still thought you might have some insight to why and its meaning.
Thanks for sharing your journey and making it a point of showing its an individual journey, we are all different and need to find our best fit... but can help each other, by supporting and wisdom sharing ❤ ❤❤

My last period was 7yrs ago. I’ve been doing IF 16:8 and keto during my eating window. I lose maybe 1 or 2 kg then they keep coming back on without me changing anything. I have no idea why I'm not losing! IF isnt working! I started HRT a month ago, i sleep better and have no adverse reactions. Im desperate cause the weight isnt budging. Did a 36hrs fast and the weight came back on too. Im not sure i have it in me to do a 3 day water fast

@Mindy Hi Mindy, thank you so much for helping so many women taking control of their lives. May I please request you to do 3 videos on:

1) how should a women in her 50s who also got early menopause, have high DM (type 2), high HTN, w/ hysterectomies done b/c of cancer and with excessive high inflamation and on and off anemia and arthritis do fasting especially when it's very hard for her to loose weight?

2) Women in their 30s who are breastfeeding, how can they loose weight even if they can't fast

3) Women in their late 20s who have PCOS, fatty liver, kidney stone and a lot of migraine issues.

Would really appreciate your take on these! Thank you.

I went through menopause at 35, my doctor told me I was too young to go on HRT because of the risk of breast cancer. So I was on my own. To be truthful I sailed through it.

I want to thank you, Dr. Mindy! I discovered whole new world for myself. I was not fat, but started to gain weight around belly after 40, exercises and some random diets or calories counts didn’t help. I started IF 16x8 and lowered carbs, and i am losing weight every single day. I feel great, more energized, active. I love all science behind your messages, i like to understand why i need to do smth. Big thank you for what you are doing. I’ve just got ‘Fast like a Girl’, looking forward to read it!

Thank you so much, first I feel validated I’m not doing too bad and I’m doing all the right things and second I feel you metaphorically came along and held my hand and said “off you go” 🙏🏼

I have hot flashes, but the most noticeable issue is low energy/fatigue. I am having trouble getting up to go to work in the mornings. When I get home from work, all I want to do is lay down. I have lost the energy and desire to cook, and I can barely clean the house without feeling exhausted. This has caused weight gain and depression for me.

Hello Dr. Mindy Pelz. I thank you so much for your great knowledge of fasting, hormones and much more. I used to Google about menopause and heart disease and it scared me. My gynecologist said a few years ago that I might get cancer and or I might need to have surgery because I was still having my period at nearly 61. never got cancer nor never had surgery. I've been told lots of untruths throughout the years (too long to say here). I guess due to quakery. I've always been a "late bloomer".Looking at your videos ease my mind about this. But I have emotional eating and gained a lot to 175. My goal weight is 137 or less. What can I do? my doctor says I'm pre-diabetic. I'm 63 now and depressed, etc.

I’m 43, And thought I have been going crazy lately. Like I no longer know my body. My memory, easily irritated, additional hair on my face, weight gain, extremely tired.
