I don't think it's so weird. It's what you're used to seeing. And if you like your parents, you have a positive association with those looks.

I've observed this in my pigeons, given the choice they will always choose a mate that looks like one of their parents in color and pattern.

I've noticed that some couples even young couples tend to look like each other 😚

Your first love is usually your parents. The ones that stick with you. So it makes total sense.

I think we like what looks familiar to us. It feels safe because it's familiar. I'm recognising it more and more since I've been living abroad and especially as I'm getting older and I want to settle down. I feel it's harder to settle down when you live in a different country.

I often end up with women who have; dark or brunette hair, tan to lighter skin, brown cat eyes, similar to Mila Kunis, like my mother. My mother and I were super close, so this is quite sensible.

This makes sense. Our ancestors pick partners with traits which they found attractive which their offspring inherited and attractions to those traits will also be inherited . Like having nice legs for example. Let say the mom has nice legs and the dad was super attractive to those legs. Their kids will inherited the nice legs and also have inherited the attraction to those nice legs.

I've seen a study that said the exact opposite.. That we tend to choose the opposite of our parents. A boy i used to date said to me that he didn't like blonde women because his mother was blonde.. and me also, I prefer blonde men, but my father is black.. my mother likes black men, but her father is white with blue eyes, and so on..

Dr. here, it’s not so much that nature wants us to date someone like our parents, even though this could be beneficial in survival. It’s rather that our brain learns attachment through our parents. And this later, plays out in relationships

I didn’t grown up with my bio father, but I find the men I’m most attracted to tend to have his face structure and body type. My step father has his body type as well, but different face.

One of the most attractive things about my husband is how different he looks from my entire family. And I love my family and am very close with them.

Imo we are attracted to people who look familiar to us. Personal example, my mother has an aqualine nose and sharp features. As much as I find other people who don't look like my parents beautiful, the people who attract me share facial features with my parents, mostly my mother. As i look like my dad more

Okay but that bit about children being born to their parents while they were in their 30s are more likely to find older faces attractive might explain why I like older guys lol

Both of my parents are tall with black hair & brown eyes. I prefer taller, fit men, but with brown hair & blue eyes. I'm not sure how my preference came to be so out of left field.

It would be nice if the added a percieved age of the parents. I couldn't tell you how old my dad looked when my sister and I were born but both my dad and my grandmother are frequently assumed to be younger than they are. Im 31 and usually confused for 25-28. All 3 of us have low resting heart rates so I assume Ill continue on the same trend as them. My dad was 30 when I was born but I prefer to date younger and am more attracted to them. Would my families skightly slower rate of aging be an impact on this?

Oh my! My dad was 5'8 and a diver for a sport. My mom said he loved cliff diving into the ocean. She left him when I was maybe 3.
I love shorter men with 'swimmer' physiques- lol

I'm attracted to the opposite eventhough I really love my dad. But I feel weird about dating someone looking like my family members. However, in terms of values I'm attracted to the same.

I love my dad with all my heart, but but none of my romantic interests ever had anything in common with him visually lol..not the skin color, eye color, height, hair color..nothing except his personality to a T 😊

Surprised to see Spanish supermodel Vanessa Lorenzo here. She was such a babe in her peak days ❤
