My folks had a 18 year age gap. 3 kids were married for 42 years until he died. The only thing I can see/say personally against such an age gap is that the older partner dying 'sooner' has a high probability of happening and it is, of course, quite heartbreaking. But she didn't regret the decision despite quite a bit of early persecution from certain people.

Okay, let me explain VERY important, ahe gaps are okay. I know, it's shocking. AS LONG as both parties in the relationship are legal consenting adults. Age gaps have been a thing for years now, it's nothing new. My own parents have have a 13 year-old age gap and they're still happily married. Not every older guy is a pedophile and every woman is a gold digger.
