How about ending congress's golden retirement and medical plans and force them to pay into and be part of social security and Medicare?

How about we just ask wallstreet for the 4.5 trillion in stimulus aid we gave them during the pandemic back? No? Just poor people? Okay.

Multi-billion dollar corporations paying their fair share of taxes will go a long way in covering the deficit.

The hypocrisy of what comes out of KM’s mouth is astounding.

Add random drug screens for congress, set requirments for being able to run...cut their salaries. Give them the same insurance other federal employees have...make them go to hospitals other people go to instead of their own hospital.

How about including a pay cut for congress, senate, cut their benefits, and take their pension. Take back the tax cut the last administration put out their.

Just imagine, for a minute, an America with an equal and just tax for all. Where the rich and corporations pay their fair share. I know it's hard, but just try.

Cutting the Trump administration tax cuts for the rich is what needs to be done!

They need to tax the upper 2 percent and large corporations and have them pay their fair share.

I admire McCarthy's projection .
I like how they blame others for what they are doing

I’m a government budget analyst. We’re one of only two countries to require our debt limit to be voted on - it’s normally just a function of the treasury. It’s simply agreeing to pay the debts you’ve already incurred based on approved budgets/spending. It shouldn’t be a political thing at all. The time to talk about our debt is during the budget setting process. This is holding the full faith and credit of the American government hostage. If we default, it will impact everyone!

Why won't the Republicans pay for debt that was incurred during a republican Administration,

Can we put this to a vote by the people who stand to suffer from it?

"The first default in American history caused by the House Republicans." He forgot to say the quiet part out loud.

Did they just raise the ceiling on their own debt with a bill they created? (If I’m wrong can someone please explain)

How about making foreign controlled corporations parading as American pay appropriate taxes instead of hiding their profits off shore an bribing Congress to let them do that.
