House Republicans pass debt limit bill

(27 Apr 2023) House Republicans have passed a sweeping debt ceiling package as they try to push President Biden into negotiations on federal spending. It would raise the debt ceiling by $1.5 trillion in exchange for steep spending restrictions.

As long as US citizens foot the bill for a world wide military that protects capitalism, Republicans cannot say anything about spending. Why not? No other nation is committed to spilling blood and spending to protect capitalism like the US. And the main beneficiaries of that sacrifice is the wealthy investors and corporations. Cutting defense spending by 200 billion would not be a problem if not for corporations and wealthy investors. Brazil, China and France do not have a military presence all over the globe. The average US citizen could do without a global military also.
