Why do you cut of the root? First, it keeps everything together. Second, you finish mincing when you get to the root, it provides a base to hold on to. Third, tears come stronger when you remove it.

cat never explains what to do with the end that didn't get any horizontal/vertical incisions that was meant to hold the bulb together. Did those somehow get minced to the same dimensions as well?

When I first learned how to do this, I minced 5 onions for no reason other than the fact that I thought it was fun. I put them all in a ziploc and our cook used them the next day.

see i never got the horizontal slice or do it because the layers of the shallot naturally fall apart. i honestly want to see a video with this being compared, that would be cool.

the shallot here is just 1/5th the size of that at most.. real pain in the aXX to mince.

Dang that knife was sharp🔪. I miss sharp knives ever since my knives were stolen I only buy cheap knives🔪💸, like really cheap no more than ten dollars a price cheap💰. Those things hold and edge like wet toilet paper📐💦📜. I'll get more gotta be patient and save wanna pay down some debts first📉. Priorities the pleasures📋🎁. Cook well my friends.🍳
