*_Don't compare yourself to others, 20 year old Millionaires are NOT normal. People only post their highlight reels on social media, but in reality, all people have ups and downs. Remember that you are on your own unique path in life <3_*

I was genuinely thinking about ending it all before I found this on Twitter. Thank you for giving me a perspective that I didn't know of during this troubling time. I thought that I wasn't good enough for anyone and that my life is pointless. Thank you, Russell, for giving me a different meaning about life.

It feels like you’re talking directly to me. I needed to hear this. Not feeling good enough has filled my life with fear. My fear has kept me from going after so many beautiful experiences thus far. I want to address these issues of mine and work on being being a better version of myself. I truly appreciate your videos. Thanks Russell.

I loved this video so much. I was raised in a “be perfect” household, and those expectations can really stay with you for a long time. Acknowledging my accomplishments despite imperfections is a constant challenge for me and something I continue to work on. This bit rings especially true and really gets at the heart of the matter:

“Recognize the standard you’re trying to appeal to is, if not arbitrary, certainly a construction.”

It’s so important and I hope those watching this video that struggle will start to reframe their thoughts in this context.

When ever I am in the depths, I go back to my mantra "No one cares". Sad, because everyone really only cares about themselves and not me, but very freeing also, because everyone really only cares about themselves and not me. That knowledge brings me peace.

I've been following you since your MTV days. We got sober around the same time. So cool to see your transformation!

“Not good enough” is a societal projection on how you should be. Surroundings dictating how you should behave. Your human worth has nothing to do with superficiality and you matter. Focus on intrinsic values and do whatever you are good with to create value for others. You’ll see how others opinions will quickly change - NOT that it is of matter.
