How to deal with rejection. We can relive and re-experience social pain more vividly than we can physical pain. Our brain prioritizes rejection experiences because we are social animals who live in “tribes” and in relationships.
Rejection is a kind of wound. I've found that if I don't overcome wounds by exploring them or sharing them with others, I become isolated and unhappy. What's your experience of being wounded and rejected? How can we get motivation to move on from rejection and to deal with rejection?

Mom taught me resilience young. "If they're treating you unkindly, they aren't your friend." Years later I learned healthy minded people do not tear others down but lift them up.

I’ve just been rejected by someone I really liked who appeared to like me as well and I am living in a fog now, just trying to get over it.

I choose to reject those who reject me. I simply eliminate them from my life, I don't waste my time on this kind of ppl anymore and, most important, I don't reject myself anymore

getting over an obsession of somebody is without doubt the greatest challenge ive had in my life, and i feel it may never go away. The rejection was what made it so unbearable.

I don't think I've ever heard another human being so eloquently and efficiently communicate his ideas with such a well-versed and articulate vocabulary.

Once a man was travelling in a forest and sees a cocoon moving he sees that the caterpillar was in that phase of transition into a butterfly. The butterfly was struggling and struggling nearly dying to break out of the cocoon. The man decided let me help this little creature as he witnessed the struggle for a good half hour. He opened up the cocoon helping the butterfly escape and the struggling and pain stopped. The butterfly was beautiful but unfortunately the wings were so weak it couldn’t fly and now was just a paralysed beauty.

The point of this story is that we need pain, rejection and struggle for us to grow.

The reason why the butterfly couldn’t fly was because the struggle of breaking out of the cocoon is what provides blood-flow to the butterflies’ wings.

The man helped and opened up the cocoon with his hands with nothing but good intention yet this was a struggle that the butterfly HAD to go through.

Even though at the time this may have not been the case.

Everything that is thrown our way is to test if we can fly after this struggle and to give us blood flow to the wings of our minds!

Every struggle comes to an end!

Wish you all nothing but peace love and unity ❤️❤️❤️

I felt really inspired to comment.

Love your work bro! You are a breath of fresh air in this online jungle.

Peace, salaam!

Being ignored or excluded is another form of rejection

Sometimes when you get rejected .. it says more about the person who rejected you..Sometimes actions speak way louder than words ..what breaks my heart normally opens my vision .. visa versa ..

Lots to think about. When kindness is more important than being "cool" - we will see a shift in the world.

My head: I understand that rejection is divine intervention and an urge to redirection. My heart: this pain is unbearable, how will I move past this, why was I not good enough, please come back.

Physically it feels as if my body is breaking from pain. I would almost do anything to make it go away.

"rejection can be regarded as a movement toward truth" - awesome man, thanks for that

Thank you Russell

I was ghosted after a six year relationship, ten years ago. it still hurts, it's shadow still lays across my life. Without answers or reasons why, I can only see it now as a "movement towards truth", you're right.

I'm dealing with rejec tion at the moment. My husband of 10 years is rejecting me for another woman. I'm so devastated that it's making me reconsider my entire life. I'm at rock bottom but that means the only way to go is up.
