Problem with multi-use items, you usually cannot use them for multiple tasks at the same time. For example you cannot drink your coffee out of a cookpot while you are using that same cookpot to prepare your breakfast. Or use the pot as a bowl for your meal while you are drinking your coffee out of the pot.

Our running joke before any outing, we ask if everyone has their bandana? It's a joke but real. Too many uses to list. I've even stopped at a gas station to purchase one due to forgetting mine. I'm happy with my 20 lb pack (water and food included). Really happy with the lighter pack when hiking here in the White Mountains.

Carl is not ultralight because he brings his grade books so he can hand out grades to other hikers…lol Carl should bring a patio umbrella.

I go light weight so the hiking is easier. I still slow down and enjoys God creation without the pain. And no risk of weak shoulders. Love the show guys!

More gear=more fun! Well said, just hiking and sleeping is boring for me, bushcraft keeps it interesting.

If you don't want to share your tent, make it known ahead of time that you are packing boiled eggs and beans for your meals. No one will want to share the tent with you. ;-)
