I have been using restic for more than a year and I have learned on my own, reading the documentation, watching videos or asking questions on the forum. Your videos are very practical and I learn new commands.

Thank you for this series of videos! Really really helpful!
I have a question: is it possible to recover a snapshot data after running the forget command?

Hi, thx for the vid! I have the following question:
Just to make things clear about forget and prune and which data is deleted after a prune, consider the following scenario:
- you back up 100 MB as the first snapshot
- you add 50 MB new data to it and back it up as the second snapshot (150 MB in total)

Now, if you would forget and prune the second snapshot, restic wouldn't directly remove the entire data associated with it, instead it would remove any unreferenced data in the repository, that is, data that isn't currently referenced by ANY active snapshots, right? Removing the data for the entire 150 MBs would be problematic, as it would make the first snapshot invalid, since duplicating data is only stored once in the repository. Instead, it would only remove the new 50 MB data that came with the 2nd back-up and is unreferenced with the removal of the 2nd snapshot, right?

thx in advance chief(s) and have a good one
