DIY Cloud Backup 2021 - Part 3 - Rebooting into 2022!

In 2017 I did a whole project to setup a personal cloud storage location for me and some friends. This has worked great so in 2021 I decided to upgrade the (kind of dying) hardware. I made a great start and then other things took over my life and the project landed in the background. But now the old hardware REALLY needs to be replaced so let's see where we are and reboot this series backup to life!

I am transplanting soon too. I am going from 8x8TB Xpenology to a 8x16TB unraid. I am going from a Fractal R5 to a 7 XL.
From gigabit to 10gig. The amount of files/ throughput is slow and clearing out old, useless data is a chore. I don’t do cloud but rather offsite for essential data, which is about 20-30%. Most files would be a pita to lose but then again knocking on wood.
