It’s weird to think we’re all living different lives. We don’t know each other. No idea where each other live. Yet here we all are.

At least twice a year growing up my family would take trips by car to see family who live 7-8 hours away. We'd always leave before sunrise, and my brother and I would be sleepy. My parents would hope we would sleep for most of the trip.

Sleeping in a car is never comfortable even when you're small and oftentimes I would wake up and fall back to sleep many times throughout. The sky in this video reminds me of those moments between periods of sleep on those trips.

I'm almost decades removed now from those trips. I haven't seen any of those family members we used to visit, a handful of which have passed. A handful more aging. And half of what's left we're estranged from now for various reasons.

I miss those times. I miss those trips. I miss the way we were. Time is really doing a number on this mind and I know it's not letting up any time soon.
