Thank you for the video!  That was super helpful!  That port was driving me nuts.  I would rather damage the phone if/when i drop it in water than have to deal with that damn thing every time I plug it in =)

Does taking off the USB port cover this way remove the annoying pop up that the phone says to make sure the cover is closed?

Great vid this came in very hand the charging cover for my s5 stopped closing all the way it wore out and its pointless to have if it wont close so i checked on the youtube if anyone took it out and i found this fantastic vid i took that cover off a put in the s5 box like it was always there thanks for the help

Thanks for the labor of love. I appreciate it. The only thing I would do differently is keep the metal screw away from the magnetic field. An electronics engineer once told me never to bring microphones or speakers close to metal objects as in doing so the low frequencies generated or received by the device are attenuated.
