I had a similar problem, my iPhone after plugging charging cable was disconnecting spontaneously and the lighning connector did not hold well in the port. I used a toothpick, compressed air, and was amazed at how much dust was inside. After that I cleaned port with 70% alcohol and now everything is working very well.

For people with Type C ports, don't use a tooth pick. Instead, cut a thin piece of plastic from an empty plastic bottle and NEVER use anything metal. Also, i honestly think the can of air pump is also a waste of money too, you can just normally blow on it. Just make sure to dry your mouth a bit before blowing

Just use a small hook and pull out all the stuff, but look what you're pulling out. Use a strong light

I was using a pocketknife tooth pick and a dog toy air compressor before going out and buying toothpicks and compressed air. They worked much better. Thank you!

Went to U Break We fix in El Toro California. Asked the worker if he can dust the port off for me. The worker seemed a little weird right off the bat. He took it to the back and came out about two minutes later. The employee said there was a broken chip inside, it needs to be replaced for $80. I said yeah, right……… got me a can of air cleaner over at Home Depot for $5 watched your video, cleaned it with a toothpick, air dustited the port and wala!!! It’s fixed!! Can’t wait to go back to the store and confront the guy!!!!
