Just yesterday I acquired another Total Gym 11, 000…..for free. My friend Dave bought his the same day I bought mine back in 2004. At 66 now and having some health issues, he gave me his 11, 000 so I could give it to my youngest son. It wasn’t stored real well, but with some TLC, it’s now fully functional again.

If anyone thinks that folding and unfolding one of these 14, 000 models is difficult or would take too much time, notice that the video is only 2 minutes and 40 seconds long. And that includes the intro, Tom’s opening and closing remarks, and his explaining everything as he goes. The unit is 52” high while I believe Tom is only about 5’6” high. So it really is a very simple procedure! My 11, 000 folds the same way.

This is the 14000 model. You can clearly see it written on the sliding board at about 0:58-1:01 in the video. I have the older 11000 model. Awesome piece of equipment! I never fold mine. I use it 3 to 5 days a week, and now in my 50's, it has really helped me stay strong and to be able to keep playing tennis every weekend. A friend of mine also has the 11000 model and has showed me that it is very easy to fold and unfold...just takes some practice.

My tips - wear thick leather gloves just to make sure to protect your fingers (just in case). I've had mine for so many years & try not to have to move it. Mine looks very much like this one. We bought it in the mid-90s. It's a tank & will probably last past the apocalypse.

I have an 11000, and forgot long ago how to fold it. Thanks for the video!

Thank you so much for this tutorial. I have the clinical model 2400 and need original videos that came with it (from around 2002) - can I order those? Thank you again!

Though this 14000 model shown here is extremely nice, I have no doubt that my earlier 11000 (eleven thousand) model is an even better piece of equipment. The 14000 requires pins to be used for both the squat stand and the pull-up accessory/wing attachment. The 11000 does not require the pins. Just drop in the squat stand or pull-up accessory (with height adjustment if needed) and start exercising. The 14000 puts the stress of the squat platform on the rails while the 11000 puts the stress on the base, which is much stronger. On the 14000 that top cross bar was moved further up the rails. On the 11000 it's (when covered) at the perfect position to rest the head while doing full body stretching. The 11000 also came with the better, and more versatile, steel handles. And unless there was an even older better unit, the 11000 remains to this day, the best portable unit ever made by Total Gym, and far superior to any other brand on the market. Oh, on the 14000 that middle cross bar was also unfortunately moved further up the rails. From what I've mentioned you can see that the 14000 was much cheaper to manufacture than the 11000. On the positive side, the 14000 can use a few more accessories than the 11000. And even in today's market, I would rate the 14000 second only to the 11000, even though neither one is available new anymore. But if you can find either one on eBay or Craigslist, grab it!

Thanks for the effort, but I guess mine is MUCH older than the version you're using in the video. I have a Total Gym XL (no S). The height adjustment mechanism is totally different from the one above. The owners manual says "for models 3000 and XL." Do you have a video for that particular one? The cable hook-attachment is very awkward on this one.
