I have always been really good at math and went into the chemical engineering field. I even got an A plus in the differential equations class in college. That was decades ago but I am still very good at math. Some people think I am a "genius" because math appears to come "easy" to me. But the secret to me was to do countless problems. The professor would assign a few problems in a chapter but I would do all the problems. I also always try to do simple arithmetic in my head before getting getting out a calculator. I am in my 60s now but I am still working. I love it when an arithmetic problem comes up during a meeting and I say the answer before anyone punched bit into a calculator. But it is just practice. Math builds upon itself. If you haven't memorized the multiplication tables, you are wasting time in algebra class figuring out the product of two numbers. If you don't know factoring, you are wasting time in calculus class when doing integration by parts. Etc, etc, etc. It is much like how an athlete practices and develops muscle memory. If you are not a genius, like me, you just have to put in the work. Also, learn to print clearly. A lot of math errors arise from sloppy printing. My three cents for unsolicited advice. 😀

Great Information!!!! I agree, the basics like addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division are all precursors to successful Algebra understanding. Students can go back and enhance those skills to improve their understandings of Algebra. Great Video.

When you said fractions I realized I haven't practiced those in so long 😬

"Do you know fractions as well as you think?"
Yeah I know I'm dreadful... (Kidding, I'm not great, I forgot a lot.. But I could do fractions to safe my life.)

Calculators here were not even allowed in schools in the '80. I could use a slide ruler though.. Because you still need to understand what you are doing..

I guessed fractions, functions, and factoring before starting the vid. So close lol.

You spend too much time talking twaddle

Your video lessons have too much self advertisement, and verbose but too little actual mathematics. Try to cut down on the self advertisement and verbose and get to the point for people following would enjoy them and even learn.
