As a manager this means I could now fix your faucet, get new, sink, overhead grill, keep up with maintenance. Also remember guys we pay for water.

I’m stuck in a rent control just under $2k in Hollywood. Pretty spacious 1BR but no heat no AC, front gate doesn’t lock, down to one community washer and dryer. I can’t even afford to think about moving, the cost will be higher for smaller space 🤷‍♂️

That is a ridiculous number 8% and up. 3% should be Max. Anything above 3% does nothing to help the tenants.

Rude neighbors at times and broken appliances why even pay the raise? I see why a lot of people living on the street. Even if you're evicted once you'll get evicted again or quit to rent eventually. Im thinking about quitting to rent and go on my way to living and traveling on trains 🚂 maybe rent a motel room. Go on a cruise and forget about apts for awhile.

In fact a percentage amount does not work well with rent increases. There should be just a small set amount that can grow annually. Like $20, $30 or $40 a year max not a percentage.

On a $2000 rent. 8% would mean the landlord could raise the rent $160 that year and that number grows with every rent increase. That is ridiculous. On a $3, 000 rent that would mean the owner could raise the rent $240 a year and growing. That helps no one and those rent amounts are average in California. So anywhere from $160 to $240 a year and growing in rent raises are still allowed under this law which helps nobody.

Useless law helps no one. Do better Democrats you are supposedly for the people and right now you are acting like you are for Wall Street, corporations and landlords.
