In an effort to replace the eviction moratorium in Los Angeles, the city Council has proposed new landlord and tenant rules. They will make it so landlords would have to pay tenants relocation costs if they raise the rent and the tenant has to move because they can’t afford it.

There needs to be more laws protecting landlords, especially the ma and pop ones. If it wasn't for landlords, CA's homeless issues would be way worse

All landlords need to raise all rents to market rate immediately. Keep them all on the defensive. Make them pay what you are owed.

It's not over in Los Angeles just yet. The County Board of Supervisors will be voting on a proposal to extend the moratorium on rentals under the Los Angeles county jurisdiction until June!

Is anyone challenging these unconstitutional laws?

Come on apartment associations speak up and make your voices loud and clear.

Rent control is modern day indentured servitude. You are getting someone else’s labor for free.

This is one of the reasons why so many people are leaving California...

This is why little by little. In LA the only landlords that will be around will be landlords for the very rich or no landlord at all.

This is already so complicated. So I can charge unlimited if it’s a house in LA county but not the city. I can’t move back into my home if LA city but county is ok.
Now this law wants us to pay tenants their moving costs? Insanity.
Do I understand this I don’t get to charge market rent but if I pay them to leave I have to pay fair market rent????
Upfront you can charge 3x the rent by leaving it furnished. Leave a couch. Get the deposit.

I would not pay it. this is crazy so a landlords has to pay for somebody to move. this makes me want to get out of the rental business I'm glad where I live we don't have to but if it becomes a law I will get rid of all mine

If I resided in LA and owned property I rented out, I'd burn it to the ground and move the heck out. This is a case of the government taking property they do not own.

A big part of the problem is that the powers-to-be do not understand how the average person lives.

Could be a bigger problem if the tenant can’t find an affordable apartment and just stops paying rent.

Crazy because I recall in your early videos towards the “ end” of the first moratorium.. I said they are going to keep coming with excuses .

What would I do? Sell California properties and leave that state . It’s a sign of things to come.

Landlords have had to raise rents because of the scumball renters who refused to pay during the moratorium, even when they could have

Where do politicians get off saying that it is the responsibility of the lessor to take care of the lessee’s moving expenses. Sounds like the tenants are little kids that don’t know what they’re doing…

Maybe all landlords need to go ahead and just stop being landlords
