Owner move in! The LA County Eviction Moratorium allows a landlord to terminate a tenancy and move into their rental property, but how does this work under the LA County Eviction Moratorium, which runs through all of 2022 (and beyond)?

This guide for landlords (and tenants) covers the steps and forms that must be used by California landlords in order to terminate a tenancy to move in under the LA County Eviction Moratorium. It is NOT an easy process and could add up to big bucks:

✔️ Who qualifies as an eligible occupant for owner move in❓
✔️ How much relocation assistance must be paid to the tenant and when is the relocation assistance paid❓
✔️ What does “similarly situated” mean and how does this apply to owner move in❓

Links we discuss in the video:
Forms - make sure you get the latest ones from the link above!!!!

Please don't worry about the tenants. They get free atty, free advice, free housing. A lot of free stuff, we have nothing. We need somebody on our side.

OMG, so you give the tenant a check for $13, 000 for relocation assistance along with the 60 day notice and then they don't move out after 60 days saying they need more time or whatever. What a nightmare.

And why do we have to do all the work for them? These are adults. Why isn't there free attorney helping them?

I live in a single family home in LA county, city of San Gabriel, the owner/landlord has given us a termination or tenancy notice, we're currently month to month, and been given two different reasons for the termination one was the owners want to move in to the home. The second is to remove the home from the market. I've spoken to an attorney who has told us we do not fall under the ordnance you cite in the video are not due relocation assistance etc. It's possible the attorney did not understand this current ordnance should I seek a second opinion he didn't seem particularly knowledgeable.

Is the relocation assistance to tenants applied even after the lease term ends?

Where and when was it decided that landlords have to pay relocation fees? Pretty much for most you’re essentially being asked to refund the rent paid… wth is that and how is it legal does Uhaul pay you to bring back a rental truck, does any car rental or commercial building have to pay you to return a rental? Why houses

I'm a single unit owner and a senior. The rent barely pays for the rental expenses & I'm told I can't raise the rent. The rental is my home in CA. At the beginning of covid my family suggested I move closer to them (WA state) which I did. I've decided I want to sell the rental and buy a new place in WA state. But I feel trapped. I'm also getting older (in my 70s) and worried that I won't physically be able to move if this continues.

Hi is ythis still effective? "The Landlord or Landlords qualifying family member must physically reside at the property for at least thirty-six (36) consecutive months"? thanks

Why would anybody want to rent in LA county? I bet this is making the homeless problem worse. the Lease has to be fair for both the land owner and the renter..

What about the Ellis Act?
I'm looking to purchase a single family home, but it's tenant occupied. The current owner will not submit a Notice of Intent nor Notice to Quit/ Vacate
As the new owner, I would want to move in, but not have to pay an exorbitant amount of money to get them to leave.
What are my options, if any? Both my son and I are both disabled and I am considered to have moderate income, just *barely* above low income.

We have a tenant who is month to month and is staying in a back unit 350 sqr ft. You’re saying that I’ll have to pay out $10, 000 to move him out?

What happens if you complete an owner occupy and you sell the house 13 months after the move-in date?
