Use tax dollars to reward greedy landlords.

I’m praying that my city and state will put a rent relief program together for low income families or fixed income families! My husband and I are senior citizens and we live on a fixed income! We don’t get raises in our income, but our rent keeps going up! If our rent continues to go up, we will be forced to live in our van or on the streets! It’s not fair, the owner of our apartment complex makes a lot of money and doesn’t do any repairs to the apartments! My husband and I had to call L & I, to get the owner to do the work in our apartment! When our lease came up for renewal, our rent was increased by $50 more a month. If we didn’t sign the new lease, our rent would go up by $110 a month. We had no choice but to sign the lease. We’ve heard of an apartment that is cheaper than what we are paying now, but because of the lease we can’t move! The owner’s of this new apartment building, takes great care of the apartments and the building. He makes sure that the grounds around the apartment building are taken care of! During the winter months, the owner of the new apartment building makes sure that the building is warm and the snow is cleaned up. The tenants don’t have to do anything! The tenants in our apartment complex need to shovel the steps in order to get to their car’s. We’re praying that an apartment will be available in that building in July of next year, so that we can move! Plus the new apartment building is much closer to our church! Starting in January we will be able to start saving my disability checks so we can move in July! I’d love to move back to California, to be closer to my mother, who is 82 years old and her health isn’t so good, but the cost of living is outrageous! So my husband and I will stay here in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Our church family members have helped us with groceries, repairs on our van, gas for the van and they even helped us pay our rent in the beginning, because we didn’t have enough money to move into the apartment building we now live in! I thank GOD for each and every church member, because without them we would be living in our van or on the streets! If there isn’t an apartment available in July, in the building that we’d like to move into, we will have to pay more per month in order to stay in the apartment complex we are now currently living in! We aren’t going to sign a new lease agreement with the owner again! We want to keep our options open! This way we’ll be able to move, if and when we find a cheaper apartment! I’m also going to talk with my Congressman and see if we can get low income housing. We should be able to qualify! Please pray for us! Thank y’all and May The Lord Bless You And Your Family!
Amen, Amen & Amen

Can't stop a free market. Each new regulation is temporary. Laws increasing minimum wages cause the landlords to raise. Rent caps cause gas prices to go up. Any guess what happens when they regulate gas? Leave the markets alone. Regulations will make things worse.
