Do you need to be on a Mac to enter DFU mode? I've done all the steps above but it just keeps showing the apple logo and restarting instead of entering DFU mode...

The solution to mine was to change to USB-A. I'd tried multiple times with the type-c which only boots into Recovery mode. Your video saved me, Thanks.

This is the best tip Ever. With USB C i tried 1874 times. With USB A just 1 time and it worked. Bonus Tip Hold Volume Down and Power button 5 seconds then Volume Down only for 10 sec (iphone 7)
