This method is amazing! To address some people's concerns, bedrock generation on Bedrock Edition is a little weird, it's exactly the same on every world in the Nether, but it's slightly different between worlds in the Overworld. The bedrock generates in a similar pattern, but extra bedrock may generate randomly. For example, I created a brand new world then went to the first coordinate in the video, but I found a 5 block long horizontal bedrock instead of 4 blocks long. The coordinates listed in this video may or may not work in some worlds, but if one doesn't work, just try another!

As someone who's been doing this for a couple of years now, I strongly recommend NOT attempting to hit the wither whilst it's in the killer (for example you have foxy's mob heads pack and say, "Oh I just will hit it once to get a wither head") - there's a high chance that you'll knock it out of the bedrock and have to kill it manually, right under spawn. If you're on a server, your servermates probably won't appreciate that ;)

Very long comment incoming. Been testing how to find working Overworld trenches in creative as today's update, September 26, 2023. I think this logic will consistently determine where the Wither will go once spawned. It seems to always spawn at least 2-4 blocks east, so sunflowers are quite good for staying oriented. Hoping some others can use this and confirm.

You need at least a 3x3x1 trench. Note if the trench runs North/South or East/West and orient yourself by placing a "temporary tail" at Y = -60, i.e. the standalone soul sand block on the South or East end of the trench.

For East/West (X) trenches:
- Place temporary tail on East end of trench at Y = -60.
- Count 2 East, 1 South, and 1 Up. If bedrock at Y = -59, use East tail as-is (all others will spawn at Y = -60).
- Count 4 East and 1 South. If bedrock at Y = -60, use West tail instead. Destroy temporary East tail (replace with skull).
- If neither, bad trench.

For North/South (Z) trenches:
- Place temporary tail on South end of trench at Y = -60.
- Count 4 East.
- Check 1 North and 1 South for bedrock at Y = -60.
- If bedrock to North, use South tail as-is.
- If bedrock to South, use North tail instead. Destroy temporary South tail (replace with skull).
- If neither, bad trench.

All three examples in the video are East/West trenches using an East tail. At 4:13, he places the tail at (3, -60, 5). So if you go 2 blocks East, 1 block South, and 1 block Up from the tail, the wither's head will be stuck inside the bedrock at (5, -59, 6) as said at 4:05. I haven't run into any issues with the withers escaping from 25+ spots (yet, famous last words), but they can definitely still shoot skulls out unless you have some additional bedrock around the killer block.

just a word of warning… dont wear throrns armor while doing this. if the withers hit you they can get out. now i have 5 withers in my nether and im scared 😭😭

Omg. I'd given up on the idea of getting a beacon on my Switch. It's just so easy to lag out that system, despite watching your entities and world size, that I was afraid that all the broken blocks from fighting the wither would make it impossible on my system. I don't want to turn on cheats or set the difficulty to easy because I want to earn achievements on this world. Using a backup for safety, this looks like something that could make this do-able even on my laggy system. Thank you.

1. As of may 22, 2024 it works!
2. You don't have to go to the specific coordinates he listed.

I was just done digging a large tunnel at bedrock level using your nether tunnel bore a few days ago, went over a few 3-blocks trenches like in the video and immediately found one spot close to the starting point @ -345 -37. Tested the spot on a creative copy like 20 times and it's escape-proof! Thanks soilent!

Just 'built' this using the final overworld location and it's insane how many withers you can summon at once! Dug myself a nice little room and decorated/simplified the layout with obsidian and crying obsidian. Will make a chicken egg farm on the opposite side of the room from the explosions so that I can funnel the eggs into wither rose production. Have a bubble elevator to get up and down. Going to build a wither statue at ground level to mark the farm. ;)
Can't believe I'm just getting a beacon for the first time now! I should have done this a long time ago. :D

Just did this last night in our realm, absolutely flawless! Thank you for this! I went to the same cords as he did, placed the soul sand EXACTLY where he did, and boom! Now I need more skulls so i can get a max beacon 😁 Seriously, thank you this was crazy easy. I'm on Xbox Bedrock btw
