It fails because it was a musical, and no one wants to see a musical about the joker…..there, saved you 10 mins

But this one is like they was hiding the fact it was a musical. And I think Lady Gaga honestly just tries way too hard

I can accept the singing,
I can accept the dancing,
I can accept the absence of a plot
I CAN NOT accept such an anti climactic ending that screams (we didn't know how to end this)

Deadpool & Wolverine kinda prove the superhero fatigue is not all that real. It’s more that fans want quality. Also, Joker was divisive, those that didn’t like it, were not going to show up for the sequel. That alone would shrink it’s box office (Folie à Deux was never a guarantee billion dollar film).

It was so boring that it is worth pulling out your phone and watching King of the Hill or Family Guy, he'll, maybe even a movie

Not every movie needs a sequel. Not every movie needs to be turned into a franchise. Let's make exellent stand alone movies again!

Making it a musical was a dreadful decision

All they had to do was give the people more of the joker from the 1st movie

They get what they deserve for trying to mislead the audience (Todd Phillips and Lady Gaga specifically) for this obvious musical. Also, as a musical, the songs don't progress the story and just stop the flow of the movie. The most blatant money grab attempt in cinema history.

I’m just surprised people actually believe that Arthur fleck was somehow supposed to evolve into a criminal mastermind I’m sorry people that was never going to happen

A lot of people are saying that Joker shouldn't have had a sequel at all. I disagree. A sequel could have been great with the right script. I think they should have made a sequel wherein it was revealed that Arthur Fleck wasn't the real Joker. I mean, it's kinda staring you in the face that he's too old compared to Batman, his clothes and makeup are wrong, and he's no genius. A good idea would have been that the real Joker arose from the "clown movement" Fleck started. Maybe even met him in Arkham. Wasted opportunity.
