Exclusive! Lady Gaga & Joaquin Phoenix on Joker: Folie à Deux

Richard Arnold caught up with Lady Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix ahead of much-anticipated sequel Joker: Folie à Deux. The stars of the musical-inspired movie reveal how they struggled to let go of the characters at the end of the day, and Gaga confirms new music which has had Joaquin’s sign off! Plus, Richard gets a good look at Gaga's engagement ring, or should we say rock, after she announced her engagement at this year's Paris Olympics.

I have never seen Joaquin so comfortable in an interview, nor so comfortable with his acting partner, I feel that Gaga has that ease of transmitting tranquility and security to her colleagues, It shows that they have great chemistry and that they managed to create a very beautiful connection. They both feel confident and that is too nice..

I absolutely loved the way this movie grabs your spirit. Allowing yourself to open up and explore to feel deeply not only in your mind traveling and relating to different parts of traumatic past, and familiarity of such known classic songs into present memories. Making your emotions feel carried touching your soul. The songs touch in a way as if in a fantasy time machine. It's a brilliant piece of work.

Say what you will about the movie, I thought the chance to hear Joaquin Phoenix singing in a movie again was worth the ticket price 😅 Walk the Line is a classic, and his singing in this film was just so beautifully expressive.
