Mental illnesses run in my family along with suicide and my dad as severe depression and doctors also think he has bipolar depression. We are all Asian, and our country has a very high suicide rate. Talking about this stuff is really a good thing to do and it helps.

everyone being so positive and vocal about mental health on social media, saying they will be there for u whenever u need them.. seen counsellors, doesn't help. taken medication, doesn't improve. told all my closest friends about what i'm suffering from bcuz they said they will forever be there for me but in the end, they left bcuz they do not know how to deal with me. so tired of life man, all these fake friends making use of me, giving me false hope everyday just to see them leave my side. don't even know why i'm hanging on

I remembered sharing with one of the camp MO about my mental health and he just brushed aside my problems which i already had before national service and he even compared me to people whom have 'actual' problems like being handcuffed to the hospital beds, having financial difficulties, etc. If anything, i think it just pushes people away who wants to open up because not everyone understands, even doctors. I think what people misunderstand about people with mental struggles is you don't need to have a problem which are visible to know the state of someone's mental health or these so-called superficial problems only arises because of finance, relationships, army or family, it could be the aftermath of past traumas. Anyone can just snap anytime even if they have everything on earth people desire for. Many people don't seem to realized for people who are truly seeking help during NS were people who were already suffering before and their means of coping was self-isolation.

Learnt about this video from sir Aaron. I watched this video. My takeaway: there is hope in Singapore for Singaporeans & non-Singaporeans alike in the area of mental health. How the students responded & what they said, I felt in my heart that they were real & I would say they are all helpful pointers.

Really meaningful collab and questions too, very heartened to see the responses as well. Keep it up TMTV~! Comedy helps us destress too haha. Coincidentally on this topic, we'll be releasing a podcast episode with Jeremiah this Sat, where he shares struggles to build TMTV, considering letting go, and what kept him going. Was really a pleasure to host and learn from him, esp if you're a fan of TMTV, do look out for it on our channel if you're keen :)

Most of the people would say that, but majority won't walk the talk.. Some would even ignore the topic or don't acknowledge it

The truth. In my opinion if you feel what I said is wrong feel free to say anything to correct my mistake

In the end. Mental health is a topic some of us experience it & of course some don't experience it. For those who experience it they found a way to deal with it & of course some don't found a way to deal with it or take longer time to deal with it

Let's be honest & seek the truth

Seeking for professional help won't work cuz for those who experience it they seek for different answer, solutions, etc plus it will take some time basically is a process of trial & error

Telling your close friends or friend won't work cuz either they don't care, Pretend to care or listening to your problem but not actually really solving the root of the problem.

So in conclusion is you have to deal with it face it overcome that past of yours cuz no one will understands your pain and suffering only you yourself know.

I wish for those who overcome any adversity will archive what they truly want in life..

No point speaking up if we’re gonna tell our parents we have depression they’re just gonna be like “whats there to be depressed about” or “you watch too much shows already” its a nono to friends cause most of us have trust issues
