Since becoming a Christian some 45 years ago I have heard many people say that the Bible contains a lot of errors and contradictions. But after studying the texts and the relevant languages and cultures of the time, I have seen that these peoples understanding of the scriptures is faulty, not the scriptures. As someone once said, "you should not simply read the Bible, you must study it!".

I'm impressed at how politely she asked her question even though she felt she was pointing out what she felt was a wrongness. We all need to do more of this. To disagree without hatred or malice. I freely admit I'm still working on that.

As a new Christian, the bloodshed and violence in the Old Testament puzzled me greatly for a long time, and my mind could not justify all the killing and brutality in it. I believe this video clarifies very well for a lot of new believers. Thank you.

It's no coincidence that this video popped up just when I was reading Joshua and Judges myself and wanting it explaining to me. I have prayed that God helps me understand this, and here we havd the perfect explanation. Wow, our God works in mysterious ways. Love this channel.

For the first time in my life I am reading the Bible cover to cover and it has opened a whole new depth of understanding for me. Context does matter and I am looking forward to your new series because I’ve put quite a few question marks next to places I’m still not completely sure I understand. Totally agree the Bible is not something you can just instantly understand in it's entirety. When I first tried to read it in my 20s I simply couldn't. To me it was a bunch of old tales a bit like the myths and legends of the ancient Greece. Later in life after difficult situations, looking at consequences of people's actions, facing the outcome of my own choices I started grasping what the Bible actually is about. And a lot more started making sense after reading books by people who studied it all their lives. That's why channels like this are so important.

That's why God came in the form of Jesus and was crucified to prove that he is all loving. God never tortured people but Jesus himself was tortured.

Glory to God he answered my question in this video! I have started reading the Bible from the beginning and im at Deuteronomy. I’m not an atheist but I was having this questions inside my mind wondering why if killing is bad why would God do that.. this video made me understand🙏🏼
