If you look closely, you will see that people are not even considering Russia as worthy WW3 enemy. Funny how things change :D

China’s dilemma is oddly similar to Japan’s in 1941.

If Japan had seized Singapore and the Dutch East Indies oil fields without first neutralizing U.S. forces in the Philippines, the U.S. would have been in perfect position to cut off their supply lines at any moment. But the U.S. public was decidedly isolationist; there was no appetite or political support for a war.

Preemptively attacking U.S. forces ensured American involvement and the resolve to fight for an “unconditional surrender.”

If China invades Taiwan without first neutralizing the 7th Fleet, Okinawa & Guam, she’s in the same position. Any invasion force will be vulnerable and unsupportable should the U.S. decide to intervene.
But…if China launches a preemptive strike on those U.S. forces, you can kiss the days of hyper-partisanship in U.S. domestic politics goodbye.

If the plan is public, then that’s not their plan.

As a Mexican from Mexico, born and raised, I’ll put my money on the US anyday. We don’t want no war here but if I had to choose one I would choose the US😂

I believe that the US would take the loss of a supercarrier personally. Not quite Pearl Harbor levels of rage, but the US would make the CCP regret that life decision with cold brutal calculous. Safe to say regime change would be on the table.

S. Korea is extremely grateful to the UN & especially the US for coming to its aid during the Korean War. Korea has demonstrated its gratitude by sending troops to fight in support of the US during the Vietnam War & other American conflicts. There’s also a sense of solidarity with Taiwan. Koreans are loyal.

If China were to invade Taiwan, personally, I could see them trying to make North Korea fight against South Korea, not make a peace deal. With North Korea invading, South Korea would actually all the way up to the north-most border of North Korea and unify the two countries

In 2014, Iran built a full-scale mock-up of the USS Nimitz with 16xF22 Raptors. It used a barge with welded Semi-water-tight compartments to stand in for bulkheads. Iran attacked the “US Carrier” with missiles, rockets, guns, and specialized attack boats. The “carrier” had more holes than not, but it did not sink, not even a list. I imagine the actual carrier will hold up a little better

I love how a Chinese sub just casually sinks an American super carrier. Even damaged, it would take alot more than 1 sub to sink one even defenseless and unmanned. Look up USS America, the only super carrier sunk and it was scuttled after weeks of torpedoes, bombs, missiles, naval gun fire, etc. Finally a demo team went aboard and placed charges because we couldn't get it to sink. That USS America was an older carrier that was still conventional (non-nuclear).

3 slight problems - 1) The AIM 260 JATM will be our standard stand-off air to missile by 2027 (scheduled to be introduced in 2023); 2) We would have 2 Gerald R. Ford Class Supercarriers - Gerald R. Ford (CVN-78) & John F. Kennedy (CVN-79) & possibly Enterprise (USN-80); & 3) Many of our ships would be equipped with the latest Patriot batteries, a version of Iron Dome & an improved Iron Beam, both developed by Israel.

Arguably, the most valuable thing on Taiwan is the Taiwan Semi Fabs.

And I'm willing to bet that Taiwan Semi would be willing to scuttle their fabs before they allow them to be captured

@the infographics show. Im retired US Air Force and if our runways were hit, we could repair them with our RADR-Rapid Airfield Damage Repair-System and our fuel systems can be managed through temporary fuel bladders that are transferrable, quick and effective. We could have planes in the air within 8-10 hours of the runway being destroyed.

Putin frantically whispering into his phone: "Nows our chance! Pull everyone back and put everything back the way it was! Start acting like everything is cool! They'll all forget what we tried to do after what China just pulled. And remember...deny, deny, deny"

The F-35's would be using the Aim-260D by the time this scenario plays out

I had to stop it when an antiquated noisy diesel sub finished off a nimitz class carrier. Even disabled the carrier wouldn’t have been left alone for easy pickings especially by something so noisy that it was detected miles out well in advance

I love how all of these scenario videos assume that Chinese capabilities are as advertised. Can anyone think of examples of exemplary Chinese (or Russian for that matter) engineering / craftsmanship outside of the military sector? Why would we think that they would be any different militarily? I think a Chinese invasion would look very similar to Russia's attempt to annex Ukraine. But unlike the invasion of Ukraine. China would be dealing with NATO directly instead of by proxy.
