I've been to Taiwan and spent a lovely time in Taipei.
The people were so warm and open and friendly.
There was such a niceness to them.
More often than not you don't have to ask for directions as many of the Buddhist and Christian folk will stop and ask you in the street if you need to know where you're going.
One lady escorted us till we found a beautiful little central guest house in Taipei.

Im still thinking about the mention that the sinking of a US carrier or warship would demoralize the US population so much that it would be unwilling to fight. It would do the opposite of that. Anyone who knows our history or our culture would know.

I dont think Russia is a problem. Without the Nukes they would be easier than Iraq in the 1st Gulf war. They have the same equipment but none of the experience the Iraqis had. Any Nato country could wipe them out while the US concentrated on China.
