Elden Ring is an action role-playing game developed by FromSoftware and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. The game is a collaborative effort between game director Hidetaka Miyazaki and fantasy novelist George R. R. Martin, and is scheduled to be released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on February 25, 2022.

Elden Ring takes place in the realm of the Lands Between, sometime after the destruction of the titular Elden Ring and the scattering of its shards, the Great Runes. Once graced by the Ring and the Erdtree which symbolizes its presence, the realm is now ruled over by the demigod offspring of Queen Marika the Eternal, each possessing a shard of the Ring that corrupts and taints them with power. As a Tarnished — exiles from the Lands Between who lost the Ring's grace — summoned back after the Shattering, players must traverse the realm to ultimately find all the Great Runes, restore the Elden Ring, and become the Elden Lord.

Elden Ring is an action role-playing game played in a third-person perspective and features elements similar to those found in its predecessors, the Souls series as well as Bloodborne and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, with gameplay focusing on combat and exploration. Director Hidetaka Miyazaki explained that players start with a linear opening but will eventually progress to freely explore the Lands Between, including its six main areas, as well as castles, fortresses, and catacombs scattered throughout the vast open-world map. These main areas are interconnected through a central hub that players can access later in the game's progression — similar to Firelink Shrine from Dark Souls — and will be explorable using the character's mount as the main mode of transport, although a fast travel system will be an available option. Throughout the game, players will encounter non-player characters (NPCs) and enemies alike, including the demigods who rule each main area and will serve as the game's main bosses.

Combat in Elden Ring relies heavily on character-building elements found in previous Soulsborne games, such as calculated, close-ranged melee-based combat with the use of skills, magic abilities, as well as blocking and dodging mechanics. Elden Ring will introduce mounted combat and a stealth system.

Spoiler-free Tips:
- The monument icon = location of map fragment
- TEARDROP SCARAB (Rolling ball enemy that disappear quick) often contains valuable items depends on the color
- Ash of war change the scaling of weapon as well
- Incantations(i.e. healing spell) are cast using a Sacred Seal or similar catalyst
- You can perform a critical hit after enemy fell from horse
- Very soon, you may(or may not) come across a talisman of HP Regen that allows you to regen quicker than poison damage

To activate your faith incantations you got from round table, you need a finger seal. You can buy one from the twin maiden husks in the round table hold. You walk left through the door of where you bought the incantations and take a right through that door and they should sit on the right side of the room.

It's really interesting how much different our stories are.
I chose to go with a paladin build and found out where key items were for me.
Spent my days exploring the weeping peninsula and limgrave.
Those gatefont ruins you explored was my grinding spot
About 1500 ruins for clearing the area and a couple knights on horses in the area for more.
My first two big walls to get through was beating a nights calavery for sheild barricade, that encounter taught me how to parry, second one was clearing out the gatefront ruins
The big knight with a sheild was an obstacle to overcome but taught me how to perfect the balance of offensive and defensive fighting.
Then just dungeons and fighting bosses some more difficult then other.
But 20 hours in beat all the Land bosses and I think explored most dungeons.
Thinking I'm gonna head for the castle next

One tip I have if you don't already know in order to use ashes of war you have to two hand the weapon, if you are using the base controls triangle + R1 to one hand your sword, and then L2 to use the swords ashes of war. The curved great sword you have has a powerful ability you should try it.

This is my first Fromsoftware game ngl I was expecting it to be so much more brutal than it is. The story and exploration is amazing, never wanted to just walk around and find stuff in a game more than with this game!

When you eventually get the skeletal spirit ashes definitely use those. In most boss battles the boss will target them. They die about as fast as wolves but once the boss kills them, make sure you hit him. It’ll pull the boss onto you and the skeletons will revive themselves just like the regular mob ones. Great for early game since you can’t recall spirits right after previous die

To use incantations buy the finger thing from the two headed vendor at the round table. Put it in a weapon slot and summon away😁
