This episode we take some quick loops through the Northern and Western Regions, Liurnia & Caelid to grab a few upgrades for a few different playstyles. Some basics included more seeds and tears in addition to a blacksmith with Sombering stones for sale and the Church of Vows, where I'd suggest turning in any spellbooks we find.

Key items include the Twinblade for Dex builds, Rock Sling & Meteorite staff for Sorcery builds, and the Greatsword for my strength gang. At this point we have solid starter weapons or spells for the various playstyles so we're going to be getting more into the thick of things and slowing down in coming episodes.

Hey just wanted to let everyone who doesn’t know this already, that double jumping before you hit the ground while on Torrent actually makes you take more damage. The fall damage in this game is calculated by how long you are in the air for.

This tutorial is perfect for the 30 year old dad of three who works full time and can’t play games until wife falls asleep.. if I had to do it the natural way, I’d be 50 years old by the time I beat it lol

Really so thankful for these walkthroughs. I gave up on Elden Ring at first. Actually uninstalled it. But I decided to give it another go. Watched your first few episodes to kind of get a boost. Watched some other videos to understand more of how the game worked. Then went out on my own. And boy am I glad. This game is amazing. Definately one of my top 3 games of all time. So so glad I didn't throw in the towel.

I have gamed all my life. Watched or read hundreds of guides. Your effort and time in building these are a gift, mate. And your guides stand out above the rest. Thanks for helping all of us out.

IMPORTANT addition to anyone who cares: Speak to Blaid the Half-wolf warrior AFTER the boss battle he assisted you with and exhaust his dialog. Then talk to the giant Smith until you get the option to tell him Blaid sent you. Then he will sell you a crest he didn't before

That invader that pops if you dont follow your path exactly was a deadly surprise.

This is exactly the walkthrough I needed. You tell us exactly what we need to do so we can get set up so we don’t get wrecked right away and I love that. I recommend this 10/10 for sure

Excellent. I looked at Parts 1 and 2 realised I have finally found someone who is doing a sighted - not blind, comprehensive, clear and well thought out walkthrough, and who actually sticks to his notes. I'm playing as a prophet/faith character on PC, and your walkthrough is just as relevant for me as it is for any other character type. Well-bloody-done! and I look forward to the next 78 episodes to follow. Subbed and belled. Cheers, Harry.

This game can be daunting for lowly casuals like myself. I know you mentioned that these beginning walkthroughs could result in some spoilers, but it’s perfect for me. You’ve given me the ability to acquire just enough items to allow exploration with a little less pain. AND I am just familiar enough with a few of the key starting areas to kinda know where I am, and what wants to kill me.

I don’t have as much time for gaming as I used to, and your videos are allowing me to get a solid taste of an otherwise intimidating game (for me at least). It’s just enough for me to not feel like I’m being given a path to face roll through content, more of a helpful introduction.

I’m way more excited about Elden Ring than I probably would have been without the little extra push I’ve gotten from the first 3 vids, and I’m loving it.

Thank you!

I think a worthy addition to this section of the guide would be the beast-repellant torch. it's an incredibly useful torch that makes animal-type enemies (like dogs, wolves, crabs and notably basilisks) not attack you under most circumstances, but it doesn't work on the mutated enemies in Cealid. It works as long as you have it selected, even if you two-hand your main weapon.

You get it from a merchant at the isolated merchant shack, you can actually see the hut from Rotview Balcony if you look towards the caravan where Cowboy got the the Greatsword, it's the shack up on the cliff. To get it, run past the caravan and hold a left, riding along the edge of the ravine until you see two more dogs. There is a little outcropping where you can jump over the ravine and go even further left, entering Grayoll's Barrow.
You'll see a dead dragon on a cliff, ride along that cliff and then follow the road up the hill. There's a bunch of dogs there but you can give them a wide enough berth or outrun them no problem. At the shack you'll find a grace inside to de-aggro any dogs that follow you and there you can get the torch for 1200 runes!

2:57 quick correction I experienced recently on a fresh playthrough - Roderika- the NPC we met in Stormhill shack - if you do the Stormhill legacy dungeon and Godrick instead of taking the hidden path to Liurnia you would normally find an item in Stormhill called Crysalids’ Momento. If you did Stormhill first you could return the item to her. This should progress her quest, reward you with a golden seed, and Roderika will move to the Roundtable hold where you can then quickly turn get into a spirit tuner who can upgrade your spirit summons to do more damage and have more health.
On the other hand if you follow this guide there isn’t much change. Instead once you either rest or interact with a Liurnia site of grace, Roderika will automatically skip to the Roundtable hold, skipping the Crysalids’ Momento step. She will leave the golden seed she would have rewarded you with in the spot and was sitting in Stormhill shack. The only thing you really miss out on going to Liurnia first is some extra dialogue she would have had when returning the Crysalids Momento.

Not a big deal but I just wanted to mention it so whoever wasn’t aware of the small difference would be going forward.

24:55 pro tip: just mount your horse and wait. Then charge your weapon a second or two before he passes your mount.
Works 99% of the time vs cowboy percentage 😅
