UPP 2 Demo – Use Case 4: Rome, NY

This use case utilizes the same operations and flight areas as NYUASTS used in the Use Cases 1, 2, and 3, and adds more drone flights for roof inspection, cinematography, and search and rescue. A concerned citizen sees a large drone passing the school and uses his phone to receive its broadcast remote ID. He complains to nearby federal law enforcement who then uses a 3rd party application to confirm the drone in question is conducting a legitimate emergency services flight.

Interesting, however the license plates on cars example is a flawed analogy. If this were true, the general public could scan a license plate on a car with an app and receive information that the driver is sitting in the nearby Starbucks.

REAL SCENARIO > citizen sees a ANY drone passing ANYWHERE and uses his/her phone to receive its broadcast remote ID, and all private information the FAA has now allowed to be broadcast to anyone. He/She complains to nearby federal law enforcement.
Who shows up harasses the operator, causing a useless and needless detainment, while they who are clueless about the Drone/FAA laws (9 times out of 10) then continue to interrupt a lawful action by a registered and or licensed pilot, until they can get their act together and someone in the Dept. informs them it is all legal. { could be minutes to hours depending on where you are at the time ]
meanwhile, IF it was a business they are losing money with time, IF it was a recreational flight, they lose their enjoyment and time
THERE is the reality of the Remote ID being broadcast to everyone who wants to cause trouble and make no mistake THEY WILL, and the many who will be hacked and their information used to do nefarious things or Identity theft and the operator blamed.

Just another "We the Government" will control every aspect of your life, including your hobbies/businesses/what you eat, what you drink/where you go/what you buy/where you live/what you think/ who you vote for, etc and on and on and on.

Mind your own business. We should NEVER allow government this much control over us. Just because I see a drone overhead doesn’t give me the right to know who the owner is. If that were true why doesn’t the motoring public have the ability to run a vehicle’s license plate? I submit that we should all fly our drones when and where we choose. I will.
